Sitting firmly in the 'adorable' section of our Switch game library is Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker, a puzzle title which was actually formed as an extension to mechanics first introduced in Super Mario 3D World on the Wii U.
If you've played it for yourself, you likely don't need us to tell you that the game is a visual treat; whether you're playing it on Switch, Wii U, or even 3DS, Toad and friends present us with a super-cute adventure that's absolutely worth a playthrough. The final product looks a whole lot like the image up above, but these newly-shared concept art pieces give us a look at some earlier design ideas.
We're loving the art style present in these pieces, and would happily play through the entire game again to experience it in this style. At least we have the new two-player co-op and DLC to keep us busy.
Have you played Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker? Do you have a favourite art piece from those up above? Tell us below.

Fantastic game. Just beautiful. Looking forward to the dlc.
I have this wonderful game on 3DS and Wii U.
Do you think Donald Trump play this game?
Still need to get this for Switch!
I had a fun time with the game. But I burned through it too quickly. I may pick a copy up down the road if all the DLC is enticing enough.
Captain Toad was one of my top 5 games for Wii U.... So glad it found a new audience with Switch... and absolutely LOVING the COOP with my Wife and new levels.
Ooh. Pretty pictures!
Oh boy, after looking at these concept arts I feel like this gem should have been a massive 20-hour adventure rather than bite-sized levels without any connection, in the end it just doesn’t fit properly. Still a very, very good game though.
Now I want a visual novel using that style for the concept art. I loved this game on the Wii U.
I gotta get around to playing this sometime soon. Everything about it is just so darn cute.
Ahhh, they are beautifull!!
