Pokémon's mainline games have always stood out as the most popular entries in the franchise, but its many spin-offs and sub-series also have their fair share of adoring fans. Among these are Pokémon Colosseum and its successor Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness, which both launched on the GameCube in the early 2000s.
It just so happens that James Turner, who served as Art Director on Pokémon Sword and Shield for Nintendo Switch, first started working on the Pokémon series around this time. Colosseum was his first Pokémon project, and he's taken the time to share a new piece of art celebrating the game. Turner says, "This was the first Pokémon game I ever worked on so it holds a special place for me."
It also just so happens that this week marks the 15th anniversary of XD: Gale of Darkness' release in Japan. It's fitting, then, that Turner has also shared a throwback piece of art to celebrate this game, too.

Where's Miror B.?!
The xD emoticon destroyed Pokemon XD for me
@mariomaster96 XD
Coliseum and Gale of Darkness HD remasters when. Seriously I would love to see that.
@liljmoore so do I.
Aw good memories particularly in the Under which had a great atmosphere. A hd remaster of both would be a must buy for me. Let the music play!
I just found my espeon and umbreon in Pokémon home the other day..... but wow what a tormenting game. However i would love to see the shadow pokemon implemented into sword and shield expansion.
I don't want to sound too controversial as I don't necessarily dislike Sword/Shield, but to me it seems Pokemon XD, as divisive as it were, actually had more personality than the recent games...
I'm not sure if it's just me, but there's a certain charm that just wasn't present in the Switch entries.
😆
Maybe you guys should make a review on the games
@liljmoore They are coming, I called this way back months ago, They have needed to re-release these for a long time now.
Missed out on these back in the day - No GCN access - so I'd love for these to be rereleased with a HD coat of paint.
@Varkster they definitely have more personality than any other Pokémon games, what with the world etc. being so different.
And they also had way better animations, two gens ago 😛
I just couldn't get into the GC pokemon games, I hate doubles battling...made everything take way too long
If they make remakes or even plain simple remasters, I'd buy them in a heartbeat
you mean the game with better animations
he never topped his first 2
I totally forgot James Turner worked on these, that's actually really cool. I'd love an HD remaster. Never played the first, but I remember having a blast on Gale of Darkness.
I’m getting flashbacks to the Pokemon Colosseum commercials.

Would love remakes of these games. Never played them but from what I've heard they don't deserve to be stuck on the GameCube.
Best console Pokémon games.
Nice to see him not indirectly calling fans the C-word this time. This guy is a joke, but the first two games he happened to work on are very good. It's funny how when the Pokémon series is allowed to step outside of its comfort zone and does games like Gale Of Darkness, Pokémon Snap, Pokémon Stadium, etc., it does them very well and they go on to be beloved by fans for years to come.
While those games weren't great I still have a lot of good memories of playing them with my brothers.
