After a two week absence for Wii downloads on the eShop, this week's European Nintendo Download Update details confirmed the arrival of Kirby's Adventure Wii in the region. With that confirmed, focus for Wii fans inevitably turns to the remaining games that have already been promised for release.
Nintendo's Japanese YouTube channel is a handy resource, then, as it's published a number of trailers for Wii games already released or shortly on the way in the country. Of particular interest are those for Sin and Punishment Star Successor / Successor of the Skies and also Pandora's Tower. The videos below provide an extensive look, but also pin them down to arrive in Japan on 4th March (Pandora's Tower) and 25th March.
Also, Zangeki no Reginleiv is out in Japan today, but this was a Wii release that never made it to the West.
Are you keen to play Pandora's Tower or Sin and Punishment 2 on the Wii U eShop? Let us know.

Just Sin & Punishment for me between the two. I prefer The Last Story over Pandora's Tower. I'll get Pandora's Tower when it's 50% off though.
Still disappointed we never got Zengeki no Reginleiv.
@Steel76
I don't think we'll get N64 VC with most of them being remastered on the 3DS. For GC games, I personally prefer them to be remastered on the Wii U.
Nintendo should just focus on NES and SNES VC and make it cross buy between Wii U and 3DS. Also VC DS games on the 3DS and Wii VC games on the Wii U.
I was hoping Pandoras Tower would get a 3DS release. But if they clean up some of the Jagged graphics I might get it for Wii-U. They really need to release Xenoblade Chronicles if this is one of the Wii to Wii-U menu games. Now would be the perfect time for that as well since the sequel is coming soon. As for Pandoras tower I have it on CD its an excellent platformer.
What about Last Story? That I'd buy in a heartbeat. S&P2? Probably.
@BensonUii Last Story was excellent! I wish they would re-open the online play functions if they have it for download. It was a very underrated online game. Talk about fun. A bit of Final Fantasy Meets Call of Duty gameplay which made for an excellent mix. It just didn't get enough time online.
I think Zangeki no Reginleiv was one of those amazing games that Europe and North America never got. I also think there was a fan translation of this game as there was for Fatal Frame 4?
I didn't get round to playing these games on the Wii, so I am interested. I assume S&P2 plays like the N64, should work well with pointer controls.
Still hoping N64 will be on Wii VC soon, with Pilot Wings 64 as a launch title
I really hope that Shibata will be giving us another hanabi festival this year and deliver some previously Japanese only games to Europe. It's been way too long since we got one.
Zangeki no Reginleiv is one of my absolute favourite Wii games and one of my favourite games ever even, and also the reason why I had to mod my Wii (along with ExcieBots). Even bought the game twice since I love it so much. Wanted a spare copy just in case.
I would take a direct port in Europe without blinking an eye, but even better would be a simple menu translation one since that will be the main stumbling block for most people to enjoy the game to it's fullest.
I wish there was a way to make this happen somehow.
I would be more interested in Reginleiv since I already have the other 2 on CD. Any chance of of a western import on that? Knowing Nintendo that one wouldn't get the 9.99 intro offer though. I guess that might be fair since it never was released here. Would be an automatic buy though.
Yay S&P 2!
both games simply AMAZING
Pandora's Tower is not a RPG, it is much closer to Zelda than Last Story. And it does many things better than Zelda.
S & P 2 looks a little washed out visually on the wii u when i played it but it is an outstanding game. Pandora'a Tower I don't think I played. I hope we get a 3rd Wii release to compensate for the Japan exclusive wii game that we will never get
I see the Nintendo Wifi logo there, is that hope theses will support online again or just a old trailer used? also one of them I think showed gamecube controller support! Be good if you could make use for the gamecube adaptor for other games on the Wii u
I would hope they would make the smart move and release these games in the west! And like i said before, i also hope to see the Fatal Frame Wii Games that never got released here along with the Wii U Fatal Frame game!
I would without a doubt pick up Pandora's tower. I've been interested in that game since day one. As long as Nintendo doesn't just release their most popular releases I'll be happy. Some of their more hard to get games would be nice, or games that are too old to be worth the high price some people charge. I'm always on the prowl for a good deal!
For a second I thought it said Pandora's Tower 2.
I already have both so not interested.
No thank you to Pandora's Tower. I had it on the Wii and sold it. I did not like that game. It was very tedious and not fun.
Not counting on any Wii games releasing in NA tomorrow, or any good VC games for that matter, seeing as it's the release day for Kirby Rainbow Curse. They tend to not release anything else good when a retail title drops.
I'm all over every last one of these Wii games if they do make it west though...
@abbyhitter MADNESS
Pandoras Tower AAAAAAHHHHH! Thank you! (I mean, bring it to EU, and then I thank you)
I borrowed it for a while, I absolutely love it but couldn't play it through that time. Now it will be mine.
One of my favorite games of all time. It is among many other tings, in a way, the 3D Castlevania of my dreams.
Pandora's Tower for me! I hope The Last Story will be there as well
Wouldn't this be a great way yo release some games that have an English translation but never came out in NA like Fatal Frame?
Looking forward to Sin and Punishment.
@Windy Guess we'll find out if they do anything with the online features with these downloads, since S+P and Zengeki no Reginleiv use them, and Nintendo's made no effort of hiding the Nintendo Wi-Fi logos on the box art....
I past on the Prime release because I had it although it was still tempting. These 2 have always been on my list and if they come in at that 10$ price point I simply can't pass them up this time.
These games are also 30% off for their first week. It is worth noting Japan only got one of their first three games with any discount (DKCR, 30% off).
Honestly, I want to see Reginleiv get a Western release. It pretty much an over-exaggerated version of Flash of the Blade, but with Norse mythology. Might get Pandora's Tower seeing as I didn't get it back when it released.
Wow, $30 is a pretty hefty price for Wii games with no remastering. If they're that price here I can't see them moving many copies. I wonder if the promo price will apply to all Wii titles when released.
@Samurairu they are 20 bucks. Not thirty.
Any word on Kirby Adventure (Return to Dreamland) releasing in the US? We bought it recently used for $35 and my kids still play it alot so I'd trade the disc in to Gamestp and DL the game if it's coming.
When is the spammer getting banned, (s)he's been at it all day?
@faint These new games show 2700 yen, which is 32 bucks for me after tax.
Also, current ones are 21.99 for me or 25 after tax.
I always enjoyed Sin&Punishment on my J-N64. I Hope S&P2 comes to North America.
@Dpullam
Pandora's Tower is just $20 new if you're really that interested. Buy direct from XSEED if you want to support those guys for picking up Nintendo's slack.
There might be issues with Pandora's Tower coming to NA, since Xseed published it here. (Since I already own it personally that's a nonissue.) If it does perhaps there will be a patch...
One of the things I loved best about the game was how it genuinely made me care about Elena's plight. The second boss took me forever and I made it back with literally moments to spare, and rather than feeling satisfaction at succeeding as with most games and bosses, I felt like I had betrayed her for allowing her to suffer so much. It even changed the way I played--later on I'd return to the tower more frequently, just to avoid taking that risk again. It's about as strong an emotional connection as I've felt for a fictional character.
Plus the Wiimote is a whip.
@BensonUii We got Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask, and StarFox 64 remastered, as well as Rayman 3D, which I think was N64, but I'm not sure. That can't really be described as most of the N64 library. I personally will take another chance to play Super Mario 64 or Mario Party 3, remake or otherwise.
I wholeheartedly agree with having DS VC games on 3DS, as opposed to the Wii U. How else will I copy Farore's symbol onto the sea chart in Phantom Hourglass?
@Windy I doubt they'll put out Xenoblade Chronicles since that would eat into the sales of the 3DS version. Especially considering that's one of the main selling points for buying a New 3DS.
Last week I was really tempted to buy Pandora's Tower I'm so glad that I waited. I'm just kinda worried about something, Nintendo pusblished these games in Japan, but XSEEDS published Pandora's Tower in NA so... Do you think it'd still be posible to have it over here? Well, lucky europeans, they'll get it anyways
I kinda already have both titles which can still be played on my Wii console.
My question is when Zero Mission comes to the West. Japan got it ages ago.
Sin and Punishment was a really under-appreciated game. I hope it sells better with its re-release.
@allav866
Wasn't Super Mario 64 remastered on the DS?
I know it didn't get the best reviews, but I'm still pissed we didn't get to play Zangeki no Reginleiv. It was made by the Earth Defense Force guys, dammit! I would've loved it.
@AugustusOxy
Totally agree. I was disappointed to see that it apparently sold so badly because it was such a fun game and one of the few that made the Wii Remote worth it.
@AVahne That's a good price! I haven't actually checked prices on the game in a long time so I didn't know what it was going for.
@Dpullam
Actually it seems I was wrong. It used to be $20 last year but it seems they've raised the price to $30 (perhaps the game is finally going out of stock?).
Sorry for being misleading.
I'm afraid that Nintendo is holding out for next gen for GC remasters and other VC titles. The return on investment just isn't there with the small install base of Wii U.
@Danrenfroe2016
I think may be because they're spending a lot of time and money on non-gaming ventures, like QoL.
@BensonUii The North American VC page shows N64 games are coming. Plus DS games that Iwata confirmed. GameCube games that Reggie would like and the GameCube controller accessory. I'd love to see Pandoras Tower, Xenoblade, and Last Story on Wii U VC.
@Danrenfroe2016 Possibly, I'll buy them on whichever console. If they wait till next gen do you think they'll remaster them? This is all speculation of course.
@Windy I sadly got The Last Story after the online functionality went down, so I had no idea how ot was like.
I'm really happy Nintendo re-releasing some of the wii's more underrated titles like Sin & Punishment 2 and Pandora's Tower. Never have played PT, but would get if released on the eShop here.
Already have them both for the Wii, but it'd be great to see them hit the eShop and become more widely available for more people to enjoy. The Wii certainly had some under-appreciated titles.
@Feathered_Pilot Im going to recommend Pandoras Tower its a neat platformed with a small amount of RPG feel to it. I'm not one for motion controls and it was done very well in Pandoras Tower. I may break that out and go through it again! It has a nice feel and a decent story
@outburst It was made 8 years after the N64 game was, so I don't see why it can't be remade again over 8 years later. Besides, using the D-Pad is unacceptable in a 3D platform game!
I'd love to play Sin & Punishment , The Last Story, and Pandora's Tower on my 3DS. I know that they were on Wii a few years ago but I never got to play them.
I noticed the Reginleiv trailer has a segment specifically about the Wi-Fi features. Does this mean they're bringing it back? Or do you think that was just a pre-existing trailer that they didn't think to edit?
