We're not going to talk too much about the following video - produced to promote the new range of Super Mario Happy Meal toys now available at Japanese branches of McDonald's - because the normally bountiful English language doesn't provide the words required to describe how utterly adorable it is.
So instead, we advise that you stop what you're doing, dim the lights and pop on some headphones for one of the cutest and most effective commercials we've seen in years. Not only does it make us crave pieces of totally useless plastic tat, but it makes us drool at the prospect of fast food, too.
That's a double-win in our book.

Need that Boo!
While I'm not quite fascinated as @Damo, this video (among a lot of other things, Splatoon's popularity there for instance) makes me ask myself why I'm not living in Japan.
No Nabbit, No Toy.
...i do admit that this was pretty cool for Japanese getting these toys.
I love how the da da da da da is faster.
MORE ENERGY!
This is totally a metaphor for capitalism. McDonald's represents the capitalism, and, err... yeah. McDonald's.
Okay, watching that actually put a smile on my face! Thanks for sharing, NintendoLife.
McDonald's commits horrible, nightmare inducing acts to bring their products to their stores... And it doesn't end there. When I think of these places, I cannot help but recall the images of animals being throat-slit, electrified, scalded, and shot to death in grotesque slaughter factories; and seemingly endless fields of land being poisoned, tortured, and plowed into oblivion. This commercial is a cozy dream by comparison to reality.
Well, kudos to those who put together the commercial, in any case. They've certainly done a good job at their work, for whatever that's worth. The essence of experiencing Nintendo from an early age, for many, is encapsulated in this commercial.
The whole commercial is a metaphor of a community comprised of many different people coming together to revel in and celebrate a cultural achievement, and the children's initiation into society. The Elders are conspicuously absent, so the commercial similarly implies that wisdom is oftentimes hidden from plain view, and must be searched out.
With the adventurous spirit taught through the ideas brought forth by Nintendo, the people realize that they must come together as one to overcome the obstacles which befall them... Bowser is much kinder than the villains of this world, though!
I find it interesting that the slogan is still in english in japan. Guess they want that branding to be worldwide.
I could just go to japan and ask where the nearest "i'm lovin' it" is I guess. Although I wouldn't have to since it seems the name is still english too.
Then again it's called Macca's in Australia or something like that.
This is miles better than that horrible UK ad. I'll never be able to get that SUPER CRINGEY "Lets go through the PIPES!!!!" voice out my head. ever...
@Yai Maybe it was a subliminal message for... Something else involving pipes?
@Spin It's often abbreviated to just 'Mack' or 'Makku' in Japan, and I think in France it's commonly referred to as 'McDo's'. Although I'm sure just saying 'McDonald's' will do you well enough in both countries.
My kids loved this commercial.
...and so did I....
;-p
@Maxz lol, I hear you. But you can buy the toys alone for like 80cent each
My wife: "why can't they have happy meal toys like that here?"
Me: "Let's move to Japan "
Wife: "cute commercial, no."
I really don't like it when someone advertises this stuff as food .... it really isn't ...
But cool comercial and cool Mario Happy Meal stuff i guess
Those Happy meal toys look pretty nice in quality. Loved this commercial as it put a smile on my face xD

Too adorable for words yet you wrote 117 of them
Very adorably cheerful. Now, don't tell us you didn't get a smile from watching this.
I watched this commercial in TV Tokyo (a japan TV channel) 2 days ago and yes, it's very adorable! ^.^
They love happiness.
@ikki5 But we didn't describe the commercial in those words.
Adorable? I think it's embarrassing to say the least.
It's cute
