Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker is a bit of a gem on Wii U, and certainly worth considering for those eager to bulk up their Wii U game collection. With lovely visuals and clever puzzle gameplay it's certainly enjoyable to play, and has two of Nintendo's cutest stars in Captain Toad and Toadette.
The first of the duo has already been featured in Super Mario Maker as a Mystery Mushroom character, and now Toadette is all set to be added in this week. Nintendo's Japanese trailer for the pink-clad heroine is below.
This is a return to a more recognisable character after some interesting additions in recent weeks. What'll be next? We dare not even try and guess.

yeah
Cool, I'll be sure to unlock Toadette at some point.
"Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker is a bit of a gem on Wii U."
I very much disagree. It's an average game, simplistic, lacking any depth and no real challenge until the very end of the game. There were very few boss fights and of what there were they were repeated, similar to Skyward Sword. It was a lazy effort reusing much of SM3DW's assets, which in turn did the same from SM3DL. I found the game extremely boring. Sure the visuals are nice but that's the least I'd expect considering the levels are bite sized and self contained.
Yes! This is even better than Captain Toad! Super Mario Maker, here I come.
Cool. I very much like all of these SMM costume additions. The ability to use costumes in the other game styles and not just SMB would be icing on the cake.
@MarinaKat Disk-kun was one of the costumes added with the recent update, actually B')
Daww!!!!! This makes me so happy
Out of all the times I give back Mario Maker to my friend, it has to be when they finally release a Toadette outfit lol.
Im so excited to include this in a level so it can be deleted for no reason!
@Sligeach welcome to agree to disagree.
It's one of my favorite wii u game...
AAAAAAAAAAAHH~
SO CUTE~~~
Nice! I love the costumes, but I would also like the enemies/items pick-up mechanic from SMB2, & slopes. But, keep the costumes flowing, is what Nintendo should do; just not neglect updates to the game's mechanics, & items to use. One other thing: like others have already said, the ability to use the costumes in other game styles. I can understand why this isn't possible for now, as Nintendo did not include completely separate item sets for each play style. The Mystery Mushroom is the Super Leaf in SMB3, the Cape Feather in SMW, & the Propeller Mushroom in NSMBU.
@Sligeach wow, I disagree with you completely, it has been one of my favorite games on the Wii U, and I would actually say it's very smart reuse of assets. Honestly this is the kind of synergy Nintendo needs, is be able to put out tangent budget titles that are very very good.
