As E3 draws ever closer, the Nintendo NX rumour mill continues to churn out "information" at an alarming rate. We wouldn't blame you if you hadn't been able to keep up with all that's happened, so once again we've squashed all the week's happenings down into one convenient video.
This week we look at an NX rumour that denies the credibility of a previous NX rumour, arguably the most wonderfully attractive New 3DS XL, Mario Kart Arcade GP DX's latest update, and the usual roundup of releases and reviews.

He doesn't know what to do with his hands.
The funniest thing about this: what if Nintendo doesn't reveal the NX at E3 (given they never said they were)? Imagine an entire year of NX rumours...!
@the-madprofessor Oh boy, that would something if they didn't.
@the-madprofessor The funny thing is that could actually be the case. This is Nintendo we are talking about. They may just say the words "NX is happening" and there you go, they fulfilled their promise of talking NX for the year.
@the-madprofessor Nooooo....The rumour mill is becoming unbearable each passing week. For a brand many said was becoming irrelevant in home consoles, it has garnered the attention of everyone, enough to spread false rumours and elaborate hoaxes, at least. My Nintendo fan heart can only take so much salt with every speculative dribble.
If Nintendo keeps it to themselves the entire year, I'd better cut off my house's DSL connection and go full hermit to achieve enlightenment unpolluted from web shenanigans and trickery.
Nintendo needs to spill the beans, asap.
I hope NX is revealed at E3! Since I skipped Wii U, a courtesy of Nintendo leaving Brazil and putting prices 2x higher or more, I really miss their games...
@the-madprofessor
I have no ******* clue what even the rumours are this point, never mind any clue about what the NX might be.
@the-madprofessor No. I'm ending it right then. I don't think I could handle all of this and keep on living.
@NintendoFan64 As soon as I saw the still, I knew it was that clip! XD
if they were the only guys releasing hardware this year, the whole mysterious enigma thing would work for the nx, but there are likely a ps4 upgrade, an xbox one upgrade, as well as the vr push. those guys are going to fall over each other pushing information about their hardware. it's almost assured that those ps4.5 'leaks' are orchestrated, for one. nintendo on the other hand still think they're apple.
@RenanKJ I hope not. I'm loving the many fairy tales people are writing
The harping on the "beautifulest most prettiest cutest adorable" New 3DS ever is exhausting.
I can't wait for the NX skip at E3. Told ya so, told ya told ya told ya sooo.
@Project_Dolphin I've said it. People get so angry and just continue on the "the WiiU is dead and it's been years we need a new system" argument. Even though the flaws with that logic are a lengthly one. I can't believe that post got likes, on this very website, where it's more popular to follow a random rumor than what's actually happening. Good on them.
@the-madprofessor wouldn't surprise me.
With that capitalization, I thought there was already a rumour claiming that we're going to have a New NX.
@ClockworkMario New NX and New NX XL
@Dankykong The thing that makes me doubt we are getting the NX this year now is Paper Mario: Colour Splash, which would probably be released around the same time as the NX - how often do companies release first-party games on old consoles rather than promote the one that's just been released?
Of course, we could still get it this year and that would be fine, but I'd be happy with the Wii U for another 12 months with Zelda U and Pikmin 4.
@the-madprofessor That's part of the reason why I have doubt as well, not to mention there's been at least one time where Nintendo mentioned the NX is not replacing the 3DS or WiiU, but of course that's usually ignored as well. Mostly because people want to say we don't have all the information yet and like to add their spin on it or say "well maybe not YET but it WILL replace it" okay???? once again no basis lol For about 10 seconds people were touting the QoL to be the WiiU successor, everyone forgot their embarrassing "fact" claims already.
No, my 3DS is still the prettiest, because anime girls in bikinis. -w-
I really don't even care about the NX right now. All I want from Nintendo is to hear about Zelda.
@jsty3105 Hahah. That's a good point. I wanna play Nintendo again, though, and I'm waiting for NX since I have to choose... Heheh
Since we're talking rumours and possibilites... Isn't it the time for Nintendo to bring Super Mario Sunshine back? I mean, all Marios up to Super Mario 64 are available for Wii U (and even 3DS now); Galaxy 1/2 are available thanks to Wii U playing Wii games; Sunshine is still missing though. They could remake it for NX, or maybe for Wii U - since it doesn't have a proper 3D Mario yet.
NX this, NX that. I'm just gonna ignore all the rumors until there's an official announcement. You never know which rumors are valid and which aren't.
@Dezzy Same here. It doesn't really seem like it matters until something official is said or revealed by Nintendo.
@RenanKJ 3D World isn't a proper 3D Mario? I'm not arguing with you, just wondering about your reasoning as to why.
@Giygas_95 I only played 3D Land, actually, and as far as I've seen 3D World feels like a sequel to that one. Don't take me wrong, they're awesome games, just not the same kind of game as the 3D-collect-120-stars Marios. In my opinion, there are 3 main Mario series going on now:
1- New Bros series, the 2D series remade with 3D models;
2- 3D Land/World series, the 2D-made-3D games, that aim to bring the feeling of 2D games to a 3D world (I believe Nintendo said something about aiming at players who didn't feel confortable with 3D Mario yet);
3- 64/Sunshine/Galaxy/2 series, the open-world collect-120-stars series, that didn't show up on Wii U yet. <-- This is what I meant with Wii U lacking a 3D Mario.
I feel like this is the first time, ever, in my 30 plus years of being a video gamer, where I am following the rumors and news of new systems and being like whaaaaaaaaaaa.? It's also kinda fun watching everyone's panties get all up in a twist about consumer electronics.
I am not positive about the new generation being for me, but I said that same about the current generation and I bought in, and i'm usually a gen or two behind.
@Samurai_Goroh
"For a brand many said was becoming irrelevant in home consoles, it has garnered the attention of everyone"
No credible source has ever written Nintendo off in the home console market. Forum dwellers don't count. The industry knows full well just what Nintendo is capable of after witnessing the Wii and DS domination.
Companies may have skipped the Wii U, like EA, but now they're coming back to Nintendo in a big way if the rumours are true because they know Nintendo is anything but written off.
The Wii and DS domination was from a completely different era though, but I get your point.
Yes, the Nintendo brand is totally sullied, and relying on Amiibos and toys and corny mobile games doesn't make it less so.
I still love Nintendo, but you have to get real about what a company is doing to profit (that's really all that matters, we don't).
@RenanKJ I getcha. I kinda thought that's what you meant. Personally I actually prefer the small levels of the 2D-3D games versus the huge, several visits levels of the open world 3D games, but that's just me.
It's a little weird how much you guys are trumpeting the opinion that that particular 3DS is the prettiest, most beautiful, most amazing one ever released. In news articles. Keep it objective.
Even if you're just having a bit of fun, spanning the joke across every mention of that particular 3DS gets old. As if everyone else is wrong for thinking otherwise...
This video is brought to you by Alex's haircut
@the-madprofessor
Hell yes to both those game. I'm with you. I would rather them give us the NX mid to end next year.
@the-madprofessor
For me, don't care, XD, I don't have problem for see many and many rumours, if I know that "no one" is real, until that Nintendo confirm it, when they want.
@the-madprofessor It would be absolutely hilarious, as a Wii U owner I'd also be very happy. Infact if these NX rumours didn't exist, you probably wouldn't think a new console would come this year.
I personally think NX 2016 is likely but I'd be completely over the moon if wrong.
Nintendo has been a disappointment for the last two years. If they don't release the NX this year they have a lot to answer for to the people they screwed over with Wii-Us.
Sigh... Alex should start calling these "Your Weekly NX Rumor Roundup."
I am starting to think there's no handheld component for NX. The hybrid system is just the home console and it's ability to connect with smart devices and 3DS. Particularly the New 3DS, as it's been proven to have streaming capability.
For me, concrete information on the NX at E3 will decide whether I buy a Wii U or NX this year/early next. (Edit: having not bought a Wii U and only just having bought a 2DS I should say. Late to the party this generation - though I normally start off with Nintendo then drift to another console once first-party releases start drying up.)
NX is just the name for next, it would suprise me when there will actualy be a "NX" this year , my guess is 2017.
I'm more hyped about the ps4.5 then the nx, sinds the ps4.5 will be real ^^
Zelda U will be released in 2013? oh wait ^^
Well, we'll know the details in less than 2 months so no sweat.
Plus, please keep using Rik Mayall footage as much as possible.
Even more tiring than the ceaseless rumours are the people who say "I'm done listening to pre-release speculation, toodles!" and then say the exact same thing in the next such article.
Are you going to quote the source of the new NX rumour in this article or are you just saying it as clickbait to make us watch the video?
May 2017 should be a good time for Nx
14 videos sound like he wasn't able to use the controls so he asked the someone else to play it.
@the8thark I'm almost certain the video is referring the rumor that was debunked by Emily Roger's rumor
