Nintendo really is pulling out all the stops for this weekend's Mario Day. We've already seen Mario game discounts through the North American My Nintendo site and double reward points offers in Europe, and now even more savings are on the way.
Nintendo is offering North American players some special deals on select Mario games for the Switch. Between the 10th and 16th March, you can pick up a Switch system and one of five selected games starring Mario for a suggested retail price of $329.98 (saving you $30 from the usual price).
On top of that, digital download codes for the very same games will be available from participating retailers for just $39.99 each. Here are the fives games available in the offer for both of these deals (with descriptions from Nintendo thrown in for good measure):
- Super Mario Party, an uproarious party game for up to four players. Play as classic characters in a series of more than 80 fun new minigames.
- Super Mario Odyssey, a massive globe-trotting 3D adventure for one to two players. Using his new ally Cappy to control objects, animals and enemies, Mario explores multiple creative Kingdoms to collect Power Moons.
- Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, the multiplayer high-speed racer. Race friends through colorful tracks using iconic characters like Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach, Bowser, and even Link from The Legend of Zelda series and the Inklings from Splatoon.
- Mario Tennis Aces, a multiplayer sports game. Play locally or online with friends in fast-paced tennis matches across multiple modes.
- New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe, a multiplayer side-scrolling platformer with 164 creative and challenging levels.
The official Nintendo site suggests that GameStop, Amazon, Best Buy, Target, and Walmart will be home to the offers mentioned above in various forms, so make sure to be on the lookout when these go live on Sunday.
Will you be treating yourself to any of these offers? Let us know in the comments.

I was going to skip buying NSMBU Deluxe since I have the Wii U version, but $40 is pretty enticing....hmmmmmm.............
I may finally pick up super Mario party now
I'll have to pick up U Deluxe then. I enjoyed it on the Wii U, wouldn't mind having it on my Switch
I love how we get 20 bucks off the games, and Europe gets 6 dollars in coins, totally fair...
Mario Party is tempting...
If that was the Mario Party bundle with the joycons, my wife would have to deal with me spending money on something I don't necessarily need, lol
@MasterJay Yeah, Nintendo hates us
NSMBUD (God that name is so long) is not my favorite Mario game, but 30 bucks is pretty tempting. We'll see.
I think I’m going to jump on that New SMBU deal! But I really want it as a physical release. We’ll see how this pans out. 👀
oh hey I might buy Tennis and Party for that price
Might get NSMBUD for that price. Sure wish it was physical but at least I'll get some coins
Well that makes NSMBUD tempting...
Would seem easier to just discount the digital versions on Nintendo's own eShop... but okay, digital codes elsewhere it is
No physical, no deal.
Yeah, need to be a physical copy, sorry
Yeah, I still felt a little ripped off with Super Mario Party being over $20. Not to say I hated the game, but simply having just four boards and little focus on its side modes made me put this game aside for months to come, with no plans to dust it off.
Now, NSMBUDX at $40!? Hoo man, I know I already played the game on Wii U, but I want to play it again. Looks like I ain't got a choice...
Mario Tennis and Super Mario Party are still way too much money.
Those are fantastic prices for Mario Party and NSMBUD. Mario Party is worth it at full price, and NSMBUD is probobly more appealing to whoever owned to wii u version now.
Dang! That Super Mario Party offer is tempting!
No, I'm not interested in spending that much on digital. I prefer physical, when available. To anyone who doesn't mind the shortcomings of digital, $20 off is a pretty good deal. I'd pick up Odyssey at that price gladly.
I mean I have the three I really wanted. NSMBUD is iffy, I mean I have the Wii U version and this doesn’t add much (plus MM2 comes out soon, so any 2D Mario urges will be scratched then). And I have no one to really play SMP with...
Well, I might buy Aces. Looks very tempting at $39.99.
@mozzy1 @Der Keep an eye on Cheapa**gamer, maybe Amazon or someone will match!
Hmm....While I'm normally a physical game guru, I could get MK8D pretty cheap with a gift card depending on GameStop's offerings. 🤔
Much as I hate buying digital, that 33% off for Odyssey is pretty tempting.
So... You only get this deal with buying a Nintendo switch... Okay, would have preferred a regular sale but good for people who don't already have a switch I guess.
UK offer is pathetic https://www.nintendo.co.uk/News/2019/March/2x-Gold-Points-for-MAR10-Day--1527635.html
Well, as I was leaning to buying NSMBUD (or whatever acronym it has been given!) yesterday at full price I'll just hold off til the 10th to get it discounted. Do we know if Nintendo's Game Store will be offering the same discount, or only through those selected retailers?
Any discounts for Super Mario Run this year?
@pupypup download codes are for everyone, but not physical no.
@Paddle1 ah, I see.
So it's digital only? Dang. There's always a catch.
EU wants 20 bucks off as well!
Hmmm I think I might take the plunge and get a Switch with this deal! I've been holding off since I was hoping they would release a Switch Pro or some kind of upgrade but I'm not so sure they will do that now... Since they almost never have sales or deals for the Switch hardware, I think I might pounce on this... any thoughts/suggestions?
Dang I literally just brought Mario kart face palm. Might pick up Mario party though been planning to get it anyway.
@Grateful_Gamer I think you should might be your only chance to get these games at a "cheap" price. I doubt they'll be on sale anytime soon again. There's also the option of getting the games but not a switch and just waiting because their digital anyway, but I also doubt a switch pro is coming out anytime soon.
WTB octopath traveler for less than 79.99 CDN...
Why not put them on sale on the eShop too? (Sigh)...
Have all of these already, unfortunately
couple of questions.
*why is nintendo so greedy with deals especialy older games?
*why arn't there switch gamebundles, or so few.
*why do europeans alway get worse deals
*why are two year old games + console still fullpriced.
for me its the main reason why nintendo game shelve's are always tiny and with limited games. people with two consoles (like me) always search in the nintendo game shelf last, because naturaly i dont expect deals.
total miss from nintendo
Have all of them, even NSMBUD (I had a Target returns card to waste).
@Mando44646 I'm definitely eyeing Mario Tennis at that price.
