Nintendo has revealed that more than four million courses have already been uploaded to Super Mario Maker 2's online hub. How are we ever going to get around to playing them all?
Yes, players all around the world have been designing, building, and uploading their creations for others to try out, creating a small universe worth of levels that can be beamed to your screens through the magic of the internet. It was recently revealed that the game sold 2.42 million copies in its first three days on sale, so we're not surprised to see the number of courses be this high.
If you're looking for new levels to play, or want to share your own creations with other Nintendo Life readers, make sure to head on over to our Super Mario Maker community page. We also have a super-handy guide on how to use all of the game's power-ups in your designs - maybe that can spark some new creative ideas?
Have you been enjoying your time with the game so far? Have you contributed to that four million total? Let us know down below.

Well flip me over and call me a pancake. That's a lot of levels to sift through and play.
Welp, time for Nintendo to start deleting a bunch of them.
And just over half of those courses feature plenty of pipes just floating in mid-air.
Really, it's not surprising it's that high at all. That would be 2 courses for every user. Although you would have to figure some people are going to resist paying for the online, and there must be many who don't bother much with the creation side. In fact, many of the YouTube players posting regular playthrough videos clearly state that they don't get into creating. So not everyone who bought a copy is contributing to that number. I'm responsible for 11 of those 4 million courses so far. Some people even seem to be finding them. I've never seen my own on the lists but I still can't tell if it's designed to screen out a player's own levels.
I'm going to have to break down and buy this game. I was hoping to save the money for the dozen other must-buy games coming out on Switch, but it just looks too fun to pass up. /(>.<)
And how many of these are just a flat plane with one enemy?
If the game sold 2.42m copies in 3 days then 4m uploads in a month sounds pretty low to me. I guess a lot of people are not uploading anything.
That's amazing, who are the 2 players that have uploaded 4 million courses as surely they deserve a reward?
@Bunkerneath Oh, you wish. It's more like hot garbage courses with troll elements like enemy spam and hidden blocks that you hit as you try to jump across a pit, falling to your doom. lol
Check out my levels! I have a great attention to detail.

Super Mario Maker 2 Players Have Already Uploaded More Than 4 Million Courses...10 of which are worth playing.
There. I fixed the title.
@Hordak Mine are all worth playing.
hmm l thought it would be more than 2.42 million.
yes ik guys you think l'm crazy saying that
That's a fair amount of levels, I suppose. lol
I uploaded 5 levels so far, I've been making another one. I like the creation aspect of the game.
It seems like Super Mario Maker 2 makes players creating more interesting levels. You may occasionally meet a bad level but the quality is increased in relation to the first Maker title on Wii U.
There are garbage levels, but there's also a hell of a lot of good courses from some very creative people. More than anyone could ever play.

I don't put up garbage IMO. I try to make proper levels. Any feedback is great
A lot of those are great levels that are fun to play. Thanks to the rating system the very best and most ingenious levels get played the most, and are easy to find. Super Mario Maker 2 is one of the best games I've ever played! I'm not sharing my levels because they suck. Hopefully I'll put some time in and make a good level soon! Here's some of my favorites so far:
Block Action chd xpn 4wg
Burning feet syndrome 94f p4h 2wf
Emerald wave (this is my fav right now!) G6f p62 6hg
The five trials dJJ d09 hvg
Castlevania Classic hbL mv5 qkf
@Incarta thanks for sharing! I enjoyed Slip n' Munch RP4 2JT VFG!
With so many levels, it sure would be nice to have a text search option that could search in the level names, creator names, and text from the descriptions.
@Incarta The only was is up clap Mario is a great level! I found it to be fun to climb and then see the whole level stream by...

@Jokerwolf I hate your attention to detail too. I liked your levels though. Thanks!
I knew that I was one in a million!
@60frames-please Thank you for playing some!
I bought this with the intention of just playing other people's courses but I've now uploaded 5 courses and have ideas for a few more, I just need to find the time to make them. Absolutely love this game
I actually haven't made a single course. I really like the game, but I always find with "endless" games like these, with no end goal, they lose my focus. It'll sit there on my shelf and I'll have it in the back of my head "I can play that more, or I can get further in whatever story based game I am currently playing."
Wow, and I have created 0.00001% of them.
I need people to play my levels, my maker ID is

But seriously there are forum threads and a community page to share those and I'm on both. So yeah I've uploaded 4 courses and I have a ton of ideas for more, I just don't have the time. But time will come...
@Cosats I've noticed the same actually, I think it's that Yamamayo bird that's helped.
It may be a mode a lot of people wouldn’t even try, but if you do the endless challenge on “easy”, you sure get a lot of simple, unfocused courses that do very little before the goal pole just pops in and you sit there thinking, “that was it?” You can’t lose many lives on them and it really does feel like it’ll be endless. Especially since you save your place and pick up where you left off. I’m up to 40 lives and no end in sight.
As pointless as some of the levels are, I have no interest in leaving any critical comments, as much as I might have them. If someone was proud enough to play test and upload it, I see no purpose in calling them on it and making them feel bad. I just play it, shrug, and move on.
Since I never see my own levels listed and you don’t make the call on what difficulty level your courses are assigned, I don’t even know what mine are given. I’d guess mine might show up in the normal mode, but I have no way to find out. I don’t make courses I’d consider super expert, but not pushovers, either. I try to make them feel like Nintendo courses, or at least the aspects I enjoy in them. But since I have to beat it to post it, I don’t make many that get tough for me to clear check.
I also don’t promote my levels much, and don’t post a lot of level IDs when I make comments because there’s already so many in every thread that no one could get to all of them. The Maker ID is QPH-6RK-B9G if anyone’s interested, though.
yep and over a hundred people have played my best levels, which are Pacmario and flappy Mario, Between them both a hundred people have played them. flappy Mario is a flappy bird tribute level and pacmario is a pacman tribute level. Anyone want course ids just ask. Going to get round to do new levels eventually. but having to much fun with levels created by others.
@Bunkerneath If the Online Multiplayer is anything to go by, 90% of them.
Well I have made 3 of them with a 4th on the way but it doea get frustrating because I've died alot playing others' levels. I think I'm either very out of practice or their levels are way too difficult. Anyway I plan to make more levels but not in any rush and I'm sure there will be haters who are full of themselves who will say my levels suck but I don't give a s***. My maker id is WNB-BGJ-MRF

@LavaTwilight To playtest and tweak levels to a playable, enjoyable state, yes, time is of the essence. This is partly why Nintendo’s Mario games take upwards 4 years to create. You have to be willing to break down, even eliminate, some parts of your original design because in the end they just don’t feel natural or fun. So don’t let a low level upload count discourage you; I appreciate those creators that actually take the time to play their own creations and fix them. If you’re an individual whom had already exhausted the previous 32-upload limit, it’s probably safe to say they’re not very good levels.
@carlos82 I love the game, but I agree with Gamexplain that there is some really bad UX decisions by Nintendo (especially with controller). This does make it harder to actually create levels, compared to the original Mario Maker . I doubt they will, but I hope they patch some of these issues.
Also, the online lag is a real, real problem, affecting the enjoyment and validity of any given match.
@Antraxx777 I agree about the online, I played it and it was terrible so haven't touched it since. I didn't play much of the original so can't compare the controls but it did take me a while to get used to them on this. I'm just enjoying making levels at the moment but think I spend too much time tinkering with them, I've got 5 levels up and 1 of them is about the 6th revision and even now I have a different version offline, whilst another has a completely different sub level to the original and even on my favourite level I'm not entirely happy with the first part of it. Unfortunately I'm limited for time so have to force myself to move on but I've got a week off soon so I know what I'll end up doing 😆

@Antraxx777 have you played my courses? There's over 4million courses so to have over 100 people play mine feels good enough. I guess those who have thousands get into the 'popular' section and never leave but I don't let that get me down. Yes I take time to create my courses and I have once or twice scrapped an entire course in order to 'tweak' it. That's kind of what I meant by having time but I also meant between endless challenges, other NL courses I'm trying to get through and the MP versus or co-op. And that's only when I get the chance to get on the switch.
@60frames-please Everyone seems to like Slip n Munch Thanks for playing!
