Hopefully paving the way for other creative additional content in the future.
Dear Nintendo,
In this game you have the Super Mario World 3D style. However that is not available on the Switch, can you please put the game on the Switch.
Sincerely,
A fan of the game he has never played.
Just introduce the exploration mode and I'll be "excited" to use Link in this game too. Otherwise it feels weird to me, just like Zelda II.
Does it come with new levels as well including the new Zelda functionality?
@KoekiieWoekiie such a good game I really hope they do, so gamers like yourself who missed out can experience it!
Nice. Now add “worlds” to the download options and the game will be a perfect sequel.
@Cartridgemaster it's perfectly fine and more like the side scrolling parts of links awakening than zelda2, anyway
I miss seeing Alex Olney in videos these days! Don't get me wrong, Zion is doing great, but it feel's like Alex's videos are few and far between.
@DAHstroy I've not gone far.
@SquareOneMJ thank for hoping with me
On a serious side I have really been discussing to get a second hand wii u just for the game.
Maybe one day we can have a Donkey Kong mode in the New Super Mario Bros. graphic style
@personauser93 remake DK ‘94. It holds up fantastically.
@KoekiieWoekiie couldn't agree more... waiting eager to this game!
I stopped playing because of how cumbersome it was to find and download courses. It doesn’t sound like they’ve changed that. The new content looks cool, but they need to make it easier to get what you want. World downloads would be a big step forward.
A few new things that were not mentioned in the article, mainly new music:
-Zelda 1 Dungeon music plays in the Ghost House+Underground themes.
-Zelda 1 Death Mountain plays in the Airship+Castle themes.
-Zelda 1 Overworld plays in the rest of the themes.
When Link, the following placeable sound effects change:
—“Peaceful” changes to 8-bit “Fairy Fountain.”
—“Bowser Jr.” changes to Zelda 2: AoL boss battle (Famicom version).
—“Bowser” changes to Zelda 2: Final Boss.
—“Bonus/Mushroom” changes to 8- bit “Horse Race” from Ocarina of Time.
@KoekiieWoekiie
I really hope they do put it out, but there are two points that still leave room for doubt- First is just how long it's taken. Why sit on such a first-rate title while porting so many others unless there's an issue with it. Second is what the issue is: the GamePad implementation. Since they were still trying at that stage to make the GamePad a selling point, the use of it is peppered throughout the game. There are at least 3 levels that would be unplayable without it, not to mention all the Captain Toad levels. I really wouldn't want to see a solution like what they did to make the full Captain Toad game work on Switch, by adding an annoying blue spark that's always on screen, but the only other solution is to make those levels handheld only, or lose them altogether. I play the majority of the time with the Wii U Pro Controller, but those few levels can't even be entered while using it.
It would be great to have this game get a longer lifespan and to have it in the Switch library. And to allow many who never had access see how it's such a perfect mix of 2D and 3D Mario mechanics, but I worry that those few levels are a problem for porting it. Maybe we'll see it someday, though.
@Jimsbo: I'm sure Nintendo would just do the implementations necessary to make the game work without the GamePad. Also, SM3DW is 3D-linear Mario, much like SM3D Land. I'm not sure Nintendo wants 3DW releasing after Odyssey, which like BotW, is a showpiece for the Switch.
@ChameleonBros Wow, 8-bit horse race? Do you have a link to it?
@Euler I do not, I just found out from playing my game. I didn't find it on YouTube yet.
@personauser93 I would LOVE to see barrel blasters in Mario Maker.
