Suprise!
This was going to happen anyway, but I'm sure the limited release helped.
I can attest, EVERYONE is talking about this game right now. I visited my friends yesterday and we could not stop talking about how exciting it was to have Galaxy on thw go I haven't seen the Switch community come together like this since AC.
At this rate every person on earth is going to own Minecraft and Grand Theft Auto 5.
Next week it's going to drop off like a rock, because there are literally no copies available anymore.
@Octane True!
@Octane Then it's FIFA, Cyberpunk and CoD dominating the charts for the rest of the year.
Hmm... I don't have any of the games in the top 10. Well, I do have Mario Kart 8, but the Wii U version. All this talk of Mario games does have me wanting to try one of the Galaxy titles, but I think I may try tracking down a Wii copy. I really have no desire to play 64 or Sunshine.
@Octane There’s plenty of copies available in retail stores. I work at Target, and Nintendo supplied us with a LOT of copies.
Well, yeah.
I'm patiently waiting for my copy to arrive, going through the backlog in the meantime: jumping through the B-sides in Celeste, destroying the Empire in Dark Forces, and cleansing the bureau in Control.
I was so excited to play Galaxy again... but I’ve decided to do them chronologically, and I’m having a lot of fun with Mario 64! My son is loving Sunshine and Galaxy... I’m jealous watching him, but I’ll get to it.
@AmplifyMJ I’m also playing them chronologically. My daughter has gone straight for sunshine and she loves it.
triple-jumped to number one....I see what you did there.
I have two copies which obviously helped it get to number one. 😀
Mine is still on it's way, but no matter, will play it when it appears.
@charlieonholiday that’s nice to hear glad she’s having fun. I never got on with Mario 64 previously, via the Wii U eShop... but I’m really enjoying it now! Looking forward to Sunshine but Galaxy for me is perfection... can’t wait!
It's a solid collection. Played all three for a few stars each then settled on Galaxy as it is so amazing. Wanted to play Sunshine first as I have played that the least by far but Galaxy is too magical and one of my all time favs.
Just imagine, there are people out there who are currently experiencing Mario 64, Sunshine and Galaxy for the VERY FIRST TIME. Lucky *****
Nice! It's good to see people play these games! The collection could have been done better, but that doesn't take away the fact that people are playing these amazing games again!
@imgrowinglegs We have around 50 or so different retailers that sold the game over here, and they're all sold out, since the day pre-orders opened pretty much.
Will be getting a physical copy of this for Mario 64 alone. I still remember the feeling of amazement the first time I tried it on my N64, the gfx and the feeling that I could go anywhere plus the sheer fun of running around everywhere jumping like a lunatic had me hooked instantly
@Octane Apart from in Asda, Tesco, Argos and Game.
Curious to those who bought a physical copy: where from and was it sealed?
Our local Walmart was sold out by day 2 (I didn’t go day one). However, it was listed on the shelf for $50 (probably mostly on eBay now 😞).
I was just looking. I am waiting for mine to arrive (GameStop).
I bought it due to it being a limited release but it's still sitting inside the package it arrived in which just about sums up how excited I am about it.
No surprise there, its been above the Avengers on Amazon pretty much since it was available for pre order. I've had a lot of fun with it as well
@Willsy I picked up a copy from Game on the day of release, and yes it was sealed. I know someone else who just walked into Tesco and picked up a copy. It's apparently ASDA's game of the week and they had stock too.
@Willsy I got a copy from Nintendo UK Online Store, yes it was sealed.
@farmer_humpf
Thanks dude, Aus ebgames/GS, pre-ordered. Unsealed. Might import if I luck out at other retailers
@Gerald thanks, gonna have to import one if my other store doesn't have one. Ebgames are very suss
I am loving it so far. The games are really good and I think it is great value for money.
@Octane More than plenty in Southend, Basildon and Chelmsford.
Also been keeping an eye on eBay and those scalpers aren't doing well, seen a lot ended just under £50 and once you consider eBay & Paypal fees plus most doing free postage...they are selling at a loss! I would at least waited more than a week to see what supplies are like.
@Octane everywhere near me still has it. I think Nintendo actually was ready for the high demand this time! Good on them
Okay here we go. Started galaxy on my switch lite but using the touchscreen a lot really bugs me really cramps my hand so Wii for me is the best way. Looks beautiful tho. 64 is 64 and it’s amazing, but deep down have that feeling of a missed opportunity to modernise with the camera and widescreen option, and updated visuals but we always want more tho right? Xx
Mario 3D All-Stars retail launch sales were just below that of Mario Odyssey, which sold ~85,000 retail copies at launch.It had the 3rd biggest retail launch of the year in the UK thus far, behind The Last of Us Part 2 and Animal Crossing New Horizons, and ahead of Ghost of Tsushima and Avengers.
Including digital sales, Mario 3D All-Stars should comfortably overtake Mario Odyssey as the biggest launch ever for a Mario platformer in the UK.
Nintendo Life refusing to actually link their source. This "compiled by" bull%$#@ is unacceptable. The link needs to be linked as a source.
I did the research and found the actual link to the chart.

I've already cleared 120 stars on 64, now at 90 on Sunshine, bc I have no life when Mario comes into town. It feels wonderful to have all three of these titles in a mobile format. I hope it's a trend they continue; Nintendo has an almost literal gold mine in their older library, as all the rereleases of the NES/SNES classics show. Now, perhaps these sales will show them the 64, GC, and Wii likewise have fun adventures many missed out on when they released. Here's hoping; fingers crossed!
@the8thark they still reported factual information? Maybe tone it down a notch if you didn't uncover false reporting. It's a gaming sales chart. Pick the battles to use your ire on.
Well duh. Like we didn't see this happening
Mario Galaxy is still amazing as it ever was. Incredible to think this came out in 2007, still puts most modern games to shame easily.
Went to my local Walmart and asked if I could get a game out of the display case, the employee looked at me and asked, "Mario?" I asked her how she knew and she said it was just the theme so far for the day. That was only an hour or so after they opened. They still had a lot in their case and the cashier said they had another unopened box with them in it so sounds like Nintendo didn't short on supply this time.
@Dizavid
No. Sources should be sourced properly. We should not be sweeping it under the carpet.
