We've said it before and we'll say it again: it's a damn shame that physical copies of games rarely come with instruction booklets these days. Unless you're buying from smaller-print releases from publishers like Limited Run Games or Super Rare Games, mass-produced releases infrequently offer more than a disc and box now.
Physical games still have their perks, but we do miss the smaller elements that come with it. Thankfully, that spirit is being kept alive by more than just niche publishers. Fans have come together too and they've now created a Fire Emblem: Three Houses one.
One such fan is Twitter user Nosey Tengu; you might recall they previously created a gorgeous booklet for Splatoon 2 last year, alongside a similarly impressive ARMS one in 2019. This Fire Emblem offering comes in three different variants based around the Black Eagles, Blue Lions, and Golden Deer houses. Much like in-game though, you can only choose one.
It's another team effort, and this time around, 19 people worked on this passion project – they've been individually credited on Twitter here.
Just like before, we absolutely love the effort that's gone into this, so be sure to check it out. In terms of how to obtain one yourself, Nosey Tengu has promised to provide an update on that soon.
Do you miss instruction booklets in physical games? Are you a big enough Three Houses fan to buy one? Let us know down below.

I loved when games came with booklets.
@ManaOwls R.I.P booklets I just loved sitting there reading everything they had to say about the character that you wouldn;t find in game Its so sad, And I remember when they were dying out to, I would get a new game only to find no booklet, And it ended up becoming the norm.
I once got a Donkey kong country 3 manual with tetris+Dr Mario. I flipped through it so many times imagining the world!
And don't forget hard to find stuff that you knew existed because it was in the manual! (Has anyone actually ever gotten the anchor in Mario bros 3?!!)
Yup, also being an 80's and 90's kid the instruction manuals gave me hours of pleasure reading up about character backgrounds etc.
Probably everyone that played games back when they were standard misses them. It's frustrating when you play a bit more complicated game and have to search online for hope to do things that would have previous been at your finger tips, much more easily found, in instruction manuals.
These are so cool, though while I get the theming of having three separate ones, kind of wish they did one that was just neutral like with Sothis or Byleth's crest on it; I can't bear to choose one house over the other.
I finished golden deer and black eagles. never touched blue lions and the edelgard route. This booklet might come in handy when I revisit!
@Terra Please keep us updated when Nosey Tengu makes these available for download. Not on Twitter. These look amazing!
@tameshiyaku I'll be keeping an eye open for them!
I miss that new booklet smell....
I have yet to finish the other 3 routes
@garfreek yup was a mission but got it. I think I got a couple of times but that was so long ago that I’m a little hazy with that detail.
But I loved the strategy guide for SMB3. I literally look at every level and did everything I could do with each. Fun times.
It used to be such a big part of buying a new game for me.
Way back when, before buying games became so easy online (shakes walking stick), the manual was something to read on the way home with my brand new purchase (or while the game took 10 minutes to load/install [shakes walking stick again]).
@arrmixer COOL!! That means I have to restart it again to try getting it off course xD
Missed opportunity to not have Claude upside down.
