Scripulous Fingore, as we all know, is the best character in New Super Mario Bros. But did you know that the pointy-fingered chap also appears in the files of Paper Mario: Color Splash, Yoshi's Island, and Super Mario World? Of course you did! Everyone knows everything about Scripulous Fingore, because he is perfect and beautiful.
What's that? You've never heard of Scripulous Fingore, or his various video game exploits? Well, that's because he suffers from a severe case of being entirely fictional. He's the subject of a prank by a Twitter account called "Cut and Obscure Video Game Content", a new Twitter account which regularly publishes stuff that isn't quite true.
In the above tweet, they claim that a mysterious character known only as "scripulous_fingore" can be found in the files of New Super Mario Bros. DS, potentially as a cut enemy. This tweet could have been appreciated and forgotten about, like every other tweet in existence, but the allure of Scripulous Fingore was too much for fans to resist.
Now, Scripulous Fingore has his very own legion of admirers, with fan art and plenty of other claims that ScripFing can be found in other games.
Of course, Scripulous Fingore, despite being an angel sent from another realm, is not real. We repeat: SCRIPULOUS FINGORE IS NOT REAL. Please do not go looking for him in the video games, or you will upset Miyamoto.
Thank you.

First I've heard of this.
I’d make a joke about Devil Finger but I honestly don’t think anybody else remembers an extremely niche joke from early 00s UK kids TV.
Well it's no wonder why he was scrapped, is that supposed to be a hand? Or something else?...
I've never been one to point the fingore, but it was rather unscripulous of Nintendo to remove such a beloved character from so many games.
@nessisonett Don't be so sure.
Looks like something that should be in the next Clay Fighter game!
NINJA APPROVED
Sounds like something oneyplays would make up. Think about it
Mr Martinet was trying to warn us years ago.
"Get ready to move your fingores", he told us.

@nessisonett King Stupid will have your head for calling him niche
The Mario Twitter Meme Cycle: an ok or somewhat funny joke is Tweeted -> it takes off like crazy -> tons of tasteless “variations” are made of it, sometimes with very few actually funny ones -> it eventually dies out -> an ok or somewhat funny joke is Tweeted
One thing not mentioned in the article is that this meme is a derivative of a previous meme titled Gumbly, which was the same thing but with the Simpsons.
Wait it's not spelled scrupulous fingore
I've been reading it wrong this whole time
Well. That's a thing. Lol
@PBandSmelly hope you’ve been enjoying the latest Ding Dong & Julian eps as much as I have
This is that dang fake anti-piracy protection screens meme all over again.
@MajorasLapdog
Always nice to see the boys on friendly terms again. Julians tumblr post explaining why they left seemed to imply they had a rocky relationship at first
Oh damn, I’d seen Fingore all over Twitter and never gave it enough thought to realise it was never real.
@nessisonett This just snapped me directly back to childhood.
It's so interesting to see the concept of videogame cut content become a popular enough subject that there's now fanfiction for it. Reminds me of the recent trend I saw on YouTube for making fan-made "anti-piracy" screens for old games.
Videogame cut content is something that can always spark the interest and imagination of game communities, moreso than one might expect - for example, I would say that most Sonic fans who like to peruse through wikis and fan communities etc online have fantasised about the mysterious Hidden Palace zone that was cut from Sonic 2. These kind of things aren't as weird and out-of-nowhere as one might think.
It's an interesting take on the idea of videogame fanfiction. It's not fanfiction in the traditional sense involving the characters or story of the game, but instead it's fanfiction for the meta aspects of videogame content and data. Since it's such a specific thing to make fun stories about, I just hope most people who see these Twitter posts have a healthy sense of skepticism and can recognise it as fiction. I never like to see people being miseld for real.
I knew something was off, because he has too high of a poly count to work on DS.
@PBandSmelly
Eh, I think there's still some resentment still there. Julian really doesn't like to discuss anything to do with his time doing let's plays/Oney. To be honest it wouldn't surprise me that they are doing it for the money just like the last time...
@ImBackBB
That's a pretty negative way to view things. A lot of time has passed for behind-the-screen talk to be had, it's highly likely they made up. Julian said he didn't wanna be REMEMBERED for Oneyplays, he never said he hates it. At least we know Chris has a good relationship with Ding Dong, they still stream together and don't share money when doing so.
@PBandSmelly
"That's a pretty negative way to view things."
Sorry dude that isn't my view, it's literally Julian's. He even stated that Chris really does have a anger issues and is difficult to work with.
Trust me it is for the money (and recognition on Double D's part). Again, sorry it isn't "HAPPY HAPPY JOY JOY" going on with them. It's like this in the entertainment business, which is what they are; a business.
@PoliticallyIncorrect Same here.
I don’t think it’s necessarily safe to be talking about Scripulous Fingore. He was cut for a reason. Delete this article for your own safety.
@ImBackBB
Sorry I believe that people change and not every single interaction is posted online
@PBandSmelly
Believe what you want to believe, dude. I ain't forcing you to hate them or face the reality of them gritting their teeth and just being professionals just like Joan Crawford and Bette Davis during their time on 'What Ever Happened to Baby Jane'.
(Don't forget to Like and Subscribe. Also why not buy a Freddie Freaker shirt/plushie/whatever and stickers of my face to put in your coloring book?)
This guy could have made a gimmick account that just copy paste stuff from the cutting room floor but no he/she goes an extra mile by photoshopping and making a 3d model. Why can't twitter people see when people are joking?
@nessisonett Never heard of it, I was thinking more of the UK TV show Fingermouse
Middle fingore to those who think he's real.
