Sonic Colors: Ultimate is speeding onto a Switch near you this September. With just a handful of months to go until its release, what better time is there to check out some brand new screenshots?
Sega has shared nine new shots with us in total (including the one above), showcasing a variety of different levels and locations from the game. The company notes that Ultimate "boasts stunning visuals, fresh features, a new playable mode and general gameplay enhancements," aiming to offer players both new and old the ultimate Sonic Colors experience.
Ready? Let's dive in...
If you missed it, we were also treated to some new – and very decent looking – footage of the game yesterday. If you're a fan of the Wii original, it looks like Ultimate could be a very welcome upgrade indeed.
Are you thinking of grabbing Sonic Colors: Ultimate when it launches on September 7th? Tell us below.

this game looks great. cannot wait to revisit this game again
I'm glad the interior portions of Starlight Carnival zone have been brightened up a bit. i remember it looked a bit too drab on the Wii, especially for a zone that's named after its lighting spectacle.
Rumor has it that this & generations are the only true 3D sonic games worth playing (aside from Sonic Adventure 2 on the gamecube of course) so yeah, might pick this up.
@Joriss
I wouldn't exactly call Colours a 3D Sonic. It's maybe about 20% 3D platforming in total. Most of the 3D sections are just lane-switching to dodge obstacles, or racetrack-style drifting around corners. The majority of the game is entirely sidescrolling.
This game shoud have been called “Sonic Pride”
I'll pick it up when it goes on sale, since Sega does what Nintendon't.
Prolly pick this up on PC. I’m sure the Switch numbers’ll be strong through.
@shoeses - Likely because SEGA games do, but Nintendon't.
Fail to sell.
Already pre ordered so I can get the sonic keychain and special box. I’m a die hard mario fan now but I was sonic first. I asked for an snes but my mom got me and my bro the sega with the sonic 2 pack in instead so I was sonic obsessed until the Dreamcast failed.
