The latest update for Pokémon Legends: Arceus on the Nintendo Switch is now live. This bumps the game up to Version 1.1.1.
This is a relatively small update - with a single fix. The English patch notes available over on Nintendo's website go into detail. Here's the rundown:
Ver. 1.1.1 (Released March 17, 2022)
Update Details
"Fixed an issue where certain conditions would prevent players from obtaining the Shiny Charm even if they met the requirements. After updating the game, players who experienced this issue can obtain the Shiny Charm by speaking with Professor Laventon inside Galaxy Hall in Jubilife Village provided they meet the requirements."
This latest update follows on from last month's major update which added a sizable amount of free content to the game - including new requests, new battles, new features and much more. You can get the full rundown in our previous post:

cool
we didn't need gen 9 this year at all
this game was enough
but not to TPC it seems
tbf I guess they had to do that because of merchandise and anime
but they could have avoided the 3 year gen cycle if they really wanted
@NintendoKnight To each their own I guess.
I just can't get through Legends Arceus. Just gets stale and boring after a short while. Turning into a boring grind.
I had no such feeling with Sword/Shield, which I did several playthroughs and still play today.
My son feels the same. He saw me playing Arceus and just said boring and wasn't even interested.
So we both are actually looking forward to Gen.9 later this year.
@NintendoKnight tbh I see why they did the gen 9 this year. I think next year we'll see the Switch successor. (with a release early 2024) Which would mean a new Pokémon game on a then old system. A bit like Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon on the 3DS.
So dirt graphics all along.
@Jeronan
That's wild. I've been the other way. I haven't been able to get through a main entry since ruby/sapphire. I just get bored.
But I've got the shiny charm in arceus, because I just couldn't stay away.
I guess it really is a "to each their own" situation.
@Kiwi_Unlimited
Arceus can get boring if you don't want to catch all the Pokémon in the game. There is a real lack of trainer battles in the game, which takes a way a lot of the fun from older games. Also there is no multiplayer.
Older games can get stale though as well. I do hope Gen 9 will combine the best mechanics from Arceus with classic gameplay.
@Jeronan Oh that's interesting, I'm at the opposite end of the spectrum. I found SwSh to be a total snorefest, just getting through the story was a real slog. I've completed the Pokédex and am shiny hunting in Arceus right now, 130 hours in. I found it to be such a breath of fresh air.
I didn't encounter this issue myself but it's good for those who put in the time to get it, only to be denied at the last hurdle.
@NintendoKnight I mean there's not really much to be done about that so....
Need to get back into the game again! Too many games to play and so little free time!
Please fix the hitboxes of trees, rocks and cliffs. If I want to catch Pokemon that are on a tree, I don't want to waste balls hitting the tree instead of the Pokemon.
I've been enjoying a lot this game.. I think i'm reaching the end of the main story (just got the pokebird to fly).. but still far from have all the stars to complete the pokedex.. i have these goals and beating some secondary quests (the wisps and the pokemon in bizare form to find)
I hope we get more news quests or dlc..
@rex_rex "pokebird?" "Bizare form?" Wut.
@NintendoKnight as much as I like Arceus - and I do - it just isn't the same as a mainline Mon game. The lack of breeding, stats not really mattering and hardly new Mons...just not the same.
I welcome Gen 9. Excited about it even. Pokemon is riding a high wave right now - quality has improved and the fandom has increased. Any company not willing to capture that is a failing company.
@HXLXIII Braviary!! I couldn't remember its name! lol! bizare form = they remember music thones.. i dont remeber its names either.. i'm afraid to search on internet and receive a spoiler! hahha. once I play again, i can write here. did u beat the game??
Been playing this non stop, first time I'm enjoying a pokemon game this much since Black 2.
The true final boss was amazing and got through it first try.
Lastly the graphics aren't that bad, they look better in motion, then again I don't play games for their graphics.
I recently caught a Shiny Eevee in a Spacetime Distortion and that's the only Shiny I care about right now.
One last Noble to finish but I more about first getting Alpha and Alpha Shiny if I can.
@Arkay I enjoy the stylized graphics. There is clipping - but watching my characters boot going up and down every time he is standing in tall grass can be lightly humorous as well.
The only graphical complaint I have is how Game Freak cannot seem to make higher quality textures during close ups. They have super cool costume designs on this game I wish we could see them for what they should be. I find the characters costumes looking blurry when doing close ups lazy and distracting. And the pokeball when you catch a Mon in the water looks particularly terrible. Just those two bug me.
@RubyCarbuncle I recently caught a Shiny Eevee in a Spacetime Distortion and that's the only Shiny I care about right now.
I missed a Alpha Leafon Eevee in SpaceTime at the last minute - I didn't switch fast enough to throw the pokeballs to start the fight to catch it. And now trying and trying to get SpaceTime to get Alpha Leafon again. I am trying to get either all Shiny or Alpha Shiny before going to Credits.
@SwitchForce Ahh damn that really sucks. I've only encountered Alpha Eevee a few times and that included one Shiny. I know if I missed those I would be quite frustrated. I find the best thing to do is to listen out for what sounds like a Jet Fighter engine; this is an indication the Distortion is about to end. Catch what you can in that time.
@MostHandsieBoy agreed, they could have given us less blurry close ups. But still a fun game eitherway!
What about fixing the crashing? Whatever Shield's faults are, it didn't crash each other day for me.
Oh, and hitboxes on various objects. Makes catching pokemon near them tak fun, when you throw a pojeball two metres to the side and it somehow still hits a rock.
@Jeronan you're definitely not the only one. I didn't enjoy my time with it at all... I played for about 5 hours before I just gave up trying to force myself to like it. Sword and Shield were miles better. Legends added a fun mechanic but took everything else away, not worth it. looks really bad to me, so large but so empty.
@Jeronan I thought I was the only one who found Arceus boring by catching the same Pkm again and Again and AGAIN just to tick off a list.
Sword, however, I'm playing and liking but found BDSP dull.
