There are three options to choose from (Standard, Exclusive, and Definitive), and each one offers a slightly different package. You'll find details on all three below, as well as links to buy them if you have the cash to burn – note that those 'Early Bird' discounts are only available until 22nd April.
Sonic the Hedgehog 30th Anniversary (Standard)
The highly detailed Sonic statue was made to commemorate Sonic The Hedgehog's 30th anniversary in the games industry and has since become one of the most beloved video game franchises to date. The design is inspired by the official artwork of the anniversary, where Sonic looks like he's stepping out of the gigantic gold ring.
The base has a metallic regal design fitting for an anniversary celebration, and each side of the base represents a different zone in the Sonic The Hedgehog universe: the Studiopolis Zone, the Chemical Plant Zone, the Press Garden Zone, and, of course, the iconic Green Hill Zone. And last but not least, the top of the base has a mirror finish to give the entire statue a more grandiose appearance! Sonic The Hedgehog – Sonic 30th Anniversary (Standard Edition) comes with the following:
- Sonic The Hedgehog – Sonic 30th Anniversary resin painted statue
- Highly detailed base inspired by the Sonic The Hedgehog art style
- Limited edition numbering
- Authentication card

Moreover, the gold ring of the Definitive Edition has star-like effects with LED functionality to make it seem like it's shimmering and a spotlight behind the ring for ambiance. Is that a hefty price tag? It seems it to me but I’m not a collector
@Kid_Sickarus Very much so a hefty price tag. From what I remember, First 4 Figures has only ever released one Sonic figure at roughly 100 dollars. The 623.99 price is almost feels forced because Sonic 1 released on June 23rd, 6/23. I'm just surprised they didn't put it at 623.91 if they are insisting on referencing the original release date.
F4F always makes incredible looking statues but my god are they expensive
@Knuckles well spotted! It’s a shame they didn’t go with UK date format then and make it 236.91, but good they didn’t go with Japanese format and make it 916.23
Nintendo Life, you use the word "stunning" way too readily and frequently.
This is pretty cool though... if you like gangly modern Sonic anyway.
@Ogbert
Yeah for 30th anniversary it should've been retro Sonic.
Would have bought it if it was around 100 euros, sadly it isn't.
@Ogbert I worry about their history of head injuries every time I see an article.
At that price I'm content with my 12 dollar Sonic amiibo
Sega v Nintendo = NO WAY JOSE
I love the look but even I have to say that the price tag is a lot! But I know it’s not meant for people like me lol.
If I was a sonic fan and had the space (that thing is bigger than the 25th edition statue f4f did) it would be a nice addition to my collection. It is also a nice design entry to their sonic diorama series. It’s pretty cheap as well especially with the pre order discount and if a customer has points. I have an 15th anniversary figure that is good enough for me though. That being said I am glad that f4f is focused on mid sized statues currently though. Their pvc are too small and many of their polystones are too big. This is a goldilocks size. Imo of course.
@Kid_Sickarus it’s not. This is a detailed polystone statue and it isn’t small (close to 18 inches tall). This is a decent price for what you get. Aside from the pvc statues f4f statues are big. I’m about to throw my back out moving my midna and Amaterasu bust statues later. Look at the reveal stream and you can see the size a little better. I wish f4f would do like sideshow and put to scale images on their product pages. Folks act like these are small and lightweight figures when they aren’t.
This information would be easier to understand if there was a chart that Sega could put out. It could maybe list each version on top and then the y-axis could list the features. Then the grid at intersecting points could have a ring to display which features belong to which version of a sonic statue.
I think this would go a long way towards displaying all.of the versions and all of the ways I am potentially overspending on something so simple
That Price is just absurd. I know it's going to be a Collector's item/rare item but still.
When will f4f learn they'd sell more if they just would cut their costs in half or lower a little less than half. Their prices are always ridiculous I'm not gonna buy a statue over paying rent.
@Travisemo007 considering how fast they sell out and how long their wait lists are… they are doing ok.
Statues are aimed at a specific market, and f4f is on the mid/lower end for price. And they have a PVC line that is cheaper as well. Nothing wrong with wishing things were in your price range but f4f is not hurting for customers. (I just wish they would stop using UPS) Also, where are you living that your rent is that low? Housing market is on fire everywhere just about. I would kill for 600-700 in rent.
@Ryu_Niiyama actually I was fudging a bit for simplicity sake. My rent is actually $450 a month. And I share a big home with three roommates/friends. Athens Ga. The markets def gone up. I actually moved to athens about two years ago, just after the pandemic hit.
I just feel f4f prices are not realistic. Like at all. Def not for me, tho I'd buy one for $100 or 2 if they ever offered them at that. They are nice. But I can live off $650ish. That is a small fortune. I would be throwing money away imo. To just sit and look pretty. Ppl gotta eat lol.
@Travisemo007 like I said they know their market. I do understand where you are coming from but their customers also feel they are worth the price and the statue market is higher than this. It all depends on what value you place on your enjoyment of a product and your budget. No different than any other consumer product.
Take at look at their pvc line as those are usually in the 100-130 range plus shipping and are still very fine quality. I have a mix of their pvc line and their polystone line and I am pretty pleased with all of my purchases.
So the rent of where you live isn’t actually $450, just the share you pay. Ok well that is in line with market prices.
@Ryu_Niiyama as far as rent goes. It depends on what you mean. A whole apartment? House? Room?. I only rent rooms, as a single person, I feel it's a waste of money to pay for extra space I don't need. 2 years ago, apt rooms and or rooms in general were being advertised for $200-$500, average being $450 here. Last time I checked the going rate wwas $600-750 for a room. Def went up quite a bit indeed. So to me rent was 450 at one point. From my angle of viewing/renting lol.
I suppose your figure point makes sense. To be fair, I wasn't aware of anything above pvc quality wise, like polystone?
@Travisemo007 The article you are commenting on is for a resin (polystone) statue. Meaning your initial comment about price was made with no understanding of the materials used. Which was why I replied to you. Again I have no issue with you wishing the prices matched your budget/sense of value but it is disingenuous to make a off the cuff remark about what a company should do when you aren’t aware of what they are actually doing in the first place. Granted, it’s a comment section and that’s what people do.
Eh, people have different living needs/requirements. In general when people are talking about rent it is of the property/apartment and not a room unless one is a (young) student, which I am not. I haven’t rented a room since undergrad; and it would be rather unwieldy (let alone bad for my business) for me to do so now. However it’s good that you are frugal while you can be. Best of luck to you.
@Ryu_Niiyama the article didn't mention polystone. Also I'm aware theyve been over pricing forever. I feel what I said was in the sleeve XD personally.
True, I wouldn't consider myself a student but I dont consider myself a middle-aged aldult with a business either. So I can see how renting a room isnt for everyone. Tho I do feel it's a broad term and doesn't specifically reflect apartments only. I think smart individuals would have a roomate lol. Of some kind if not partnered. I mean if it fits your lifestyle and $1000 a month is nothing to a person, sure studio all the way. But that's quite alot to me. I value my time and freedom more than that to pay that kinda money, in ref to my own values in life. Thx for the luck 😁. You as well.
F that for a lark, those prices are stupid
Think I’ll buy two. 🤔
The only thing stunning about it is the price tag. Damn...
