The official Pokémon Twitter account has announced a brand new Pokémon Presents for later this week.
On Wednesday 3rd August at 6am PDT / 9am EDT / 2pm BST / 3pm CET, we'll be getting some new information on the next mainline games, Pokémon Scarlet & Violet, alongside details and updates for apps, so likely Pokémon Unite and Pokémon GO! But maybe there will be some surprises.
Maybe The Pokémon Company will remember Pokémon Sleep this time?
Pokémon fansite Serebii has also confirmed that The Pokémon Company Japan will also be airing a "Pokémon Watch Party" prior to Wednesday's stream at 9pm JST to "talk about coming information".
Well, we're not The Pokémon Company, but we will be chatting about Scarlet & Violet on Wednesday, so make sure you join us to watch the Pokémon Presents news over on YouTube! And let us know what you want to see in the comments!

Yes, yes, ALL OF MY YES.
I think I've come to terms with the fact that, no matter how hard I try, I can never predict Pokemon reveals nowadays and having a Presents after a regular trailer is just more proof of that. It's still exciting though and my only request/hope is that regional variants are shown off. Apart from that, I'm more than grand.
On the fence about Scarlet and Violet.
I'd fallen off the pokemon bandwagon years ago but despite the flaws I mostly enjoyed Arceus.
Not sure this new generation will be for me.
Let’s gooo! What are the odds they will show the starter evos? I need to see them!
Pokemon Direct!
Let's Go!
Pokemon Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald, Fire Red & Leaf Green port for Nintendo Switch & Mobile Phones with home compatibility & support later this year, I hope
Fantastic that we're getting Scarlet/Violet news, the drought was becoming quite lengthy compared to the usual cycle. I also wonder if they'll announce a new spinoff or provide more info on Detective Pikachu for Switch.
@Snatcher Unlikely, with Sword/Shield they didn't show them until after launch.
Can't wait for more details on Pokemon Scarlet & Violet
i'm hoping that will see Detective Pikachu 2 as well. I still need pick up the original game on 3DS, loved the demo that I played on the eShop.
Nice! Always up for some new Pokèmon info
@Dragonite89 I would be more hyped for ports of 3rd gen games on Switch than more info of Scarlet and Violet, funnily enough!
@Snatcher
I curious to see if there will be Proto and Neo form of Pokemon in Scarlet / Violet, considering the theme is about different timeline.
Very hype, can't wait!
okay, a pokemon presents.
@Grumblevolcano Man, I was really hoping that wasn’t the case, darn.
Awesome, great birthday gift, can't wait for Violet, I already have it digitally preordered
Yes! Some Nintendo News!!! I hope we see something for Detective Pikachu or something else too,
Once again I expect nothing at all for me personally, much as I wish they'd increase the quality of their games again. Oh well. Hope it'll be a good show for everyone else though!
I was JUST thinking about these games this morning as we approach the holiday season (and get out of this dreadful heat) and it was so comforting knowing there is another new Pokémon adventure to look forward to around November. I got in such good spirits thinking about being on the couch all bundled up with the Switch, diving in.
I’m am so excited for this new entry!
I hope it’s packed with information to make up for the lack of literally anything.
And yeah Buzzwhole comes to unite that day as well, so that’ll be mentioned I’m sure.
One day we'll have Pokemon battles like Yu-Gi-Oh anime duels!
Weird how I didn't see any leakers say a word about this...
Can’t wait for Pokémon Sleep and Pokémon GO Plus+ info…
Guess I’m gonna get my alarm set.
Big hype! Can't wait 😍
All I want is for them to do one of those things where the devs play the game a little bit, so you can see how the game works.
@ChromaticDracula the heat is indeed dreadful! Winter gaming > Summer suffering any day!
Nice, I'm looking forward to watching this. I love the Pokemon franchise, this has me excited.
It's good to get more info on Scarlet and Violet. I'm mainly hoping more gen 9 Pokemon are revealed (mainly a Grass/Fire type), but I think the gen 9 gimmick could be unveiled as well.
HEEEEEEEELLLL YEAAAAAAAAAH DUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUDEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
LET'S GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
I hope it's a full reveal with explanation this time, and not just a silent trailer, sick of the noobs getting the game wrong online.
I can see them showing the 2nd evolutions of the starters. And maybe like 3 of the gym leaders and their gym types. And roughly 10 new pokemon, usually on the more basic side.
It doesn't bother me, I'm just excited either way. Hah
@Dragonite89
Why would they port those games to mobile?
Any chance of a celebration of some kind for Ruby and Sapphire’s 20th anniversary?
Excited! I'll admit, I'm also curious to see if the presenter has some adorable plushies behind him like before, especially the new starters. He always has a nice display!
FINALLY! We've gone so absurdly long without significant news (even compared to past games) and we're way behind in terms of the basic mechanics and features for this game, that my expectations are through the roof on this. There's a lot that we're due or even overdue to learn about including:
-THE REGION NAME/MAP!!! (we normally should've known this at least 2 months ago, this is way late now)
-Whatever they're doing with field moves (Riding Pokemon? Something like the Rotom Bike or Corviknight Taxi? Something else?)
-How much the battle mechanics are like LA vs. traditional Pokemon games
-Whatever they're doing with gyms
-The burst gimmick
-Regional variants
-The evil team
-The Amie/Refresh/Camp equivalent
-Other significant new mechanics or side modes
We should see most (although probably not all) of this covered tomorrow, we really need that June 2019-esque blowout about now (really we needed that in June, but what's done is done). If we can get at least like, 5 or 6 of these covered that should be good. If not... well that's a major oof for this game and I'd start to have serious concerns about the amount of content in this game.
❗️I'm hoping to see that they HAVEN'T kept the catch-mechanics of 'Arceus' and that ScarVio is as good as 🗡🛡 though I DOUBT ANY Switch Pkm Game can be as good as those Games 😊
@westman98 why not? They’re old and easy to port plus they’re profitable, and Pokemon Company benefits the most through their mobile games since most people have access to smartphone, and people without a switch can officially purchase a mainline game without having to emulate or do complicated stuff on their phone.
@Dragonite89 Might as well ask for ports of the 3DS and DS entries because its just as likely. Don't get me wrong i would love for it to happen but you know its Nintendo and TPC so expect nothing and be surprised if something does happen.
@WallyWest no, the ds and 3ds games are more complicated and require 2 screen while the gba games are much easier to port because they require only one screen and are less complicated than the other two, so gba games being ported to Nintendo Switch and possibly mobile phones are less far-fetched compared to DS & 3DS games.
Finally at last! But as excited as I am right now, this still felt like a poorly executed and prolongued wait.
They're finally going to actually talk about the games.
@Dragonite89
I wish Nintendo could tell us why they haven’t ported the GBA Pokémon games.
@Dragonite89 I know that i'm just saying the chances are the same aka no chance because Nintendo.
@Don They have, on 3DS.
@BlueGBAMicro I'll go out on a limb and say you're in the minority with that statement 🤣 LA catching mechanisms were a god send
@Gunit1099 Obviously, I am but I enjoyed SwSh and didn't like LA.
@BlueGBAMicro that's perfectly fine. I personally think that LA is a much needed breath of fresh air into the franchise that was feeling grindy and repetitive for such a long time now. I wish there is both options in the next games
@Gunit1099 See, I'm coming from a different angle.
I used to play Sapphire (and 🔥🔴) all the time but stopped playing in mid-2005 due to a faulty GAME GameCube Memory Card (lost all Pkm) and didn't play a Pkm game until 2016's 'Go!' [I then got into 'Custom Robo: Arena']
I got a Switch in July 2020 (hard to find a new one during those days) and would later play 'LG Eevee' which I liked but more importantly, got me back in the mind frame of getting back into Pkm.
After completing LGE and transferring over certain Pkm to 🗡, I never went back to Kanto. Levelling-up takes WAAAAAY too long, compared to Galar.
Brilliant Diamond💎 was DULL (and I didn't like LA) but I wanted more so went through my DS backlog and LOVED ⚫️1 (⚫️2 was good too).
If I don't enjoy ScarVio, I still have HeartGold/Y/Ultra/☀️ left to play.
@BlueGBAMicro oh yeah for sure, the handheld games are mostly good ! I just wish they would keep up with the tech instead of being stuck 10 years in the past. But classic Pokemon will always stay a classic ! 🔥
