After some delays, Team Reptile today launches its Jet Set Radio-style release Bomb Rush Cyberfunk on the Nintendo Switch.
This game blends dance, paint graffiti, beats, and tricks as you face off against rival crews and dispatch the military police to conquer the five boroughs of New Amsterdam. It also happens to be a really busy week with games like Red Dead Redemption and Vampire Survivors also arriving on the Switch.
It's got us wondering who will be showing their support for this one, with its exclusive Switch launch today. Other platforms will receive this title in September. So vote in our poll and leave a comment below.

Depends on the reviews for me, but, if it's as good as I hope, I'll probably be buying it day 1.
Alot of competition though with baldur's gate, armored core 6, Sea of Stars, Blasphemous 2, and Starfield all coming out very soon though.
It looks fantastic and it probably plays very good, but my brain always has issues with playing "spiritual successors". I don't know why, but I am going to pass this one. Maybe once it has gone on sale I'll give it a go.
First I want to know if the game's good (not just looking and sounding great, which it got down from day one!) And then... how it performs on Switch.
I am just waiting on it being availible to buy in the eshop, my twitter feed has been full of people playing the Japanese version and saying how good it is and well it runs on Switch. it seems that there is even a 60fps mode called unleash the beast in the options.
I would really like a review though but I think I'm going to take the chance.
£20 yes, £36 definitely not
@hbkay then don't buy it from the UK eshop, the South Africa eshop has it much cheaper....
We don’t even have a price yet in the US
I will be. I'm swamped with games rn, and just got introduced to Vampire Survivors sooooo....
I'm actually supposed to review it for a French website, but they still haven't sent a key. Guess it's the same for Nintendo Life...
Pretty psyched for this. Will probably wait a bit, though, since 2023 is turning out to be the craziest year in awhile for game releases.
@LikelySatan
Played it the past year on my phone. So glad it's on Switch finally. Playing it now, actually.
I was day one until I saw the price and the fact there aren't any reviews yet (which could be a red flag).
@Andgiles62 oooh really??? How much?
@RootsGenoa
I think Nintendolife got key yesterday. So review may not be day 1
@SwagaliciousJohnson I agree completely. It’s because you’re thinking about the game it’s trying to imitate and how it’s not quite the same the whole time you’re playing. I can never fully get into these types of titles unfortunately.
I don't 'get' what this game is, but it looks cool, can someome explain? xD
As it’s £36 I’ll wait for a review first
@WhiteTrashGuy Shinobi non Grata, Gravity Circuit, Black Skylands, Quake 2, and Vampire Survivors (honorable mention to Tiny Thor...I just bounced off pretty quick) all in the last month for me. Its crazy. And Bomb Rush is out and looks great.
But yeah I didn't get VS until I played it. That's a real good game.
@Nintendencies Jet Set Radio. But with kicking people and not just on skates.
@makk_zucc Uggggggh I forgot Sea of Stars and Blasphemous. This year is crazy man.
waiting for reviews ans a potential physical version
Haven't decided yet since I'm not sure it's for me and I already have so many other games to play, but it looks pretty cool and I hope it will be good for those interested!
@hbkay about £29
@LikelySatan
Not heard of that game either, i'll look into it to get a better picture then, thankyou
yes. as soon as it shows up on the US eshop! been seeing gameplay all night on Twitter, looks like it's running great!
Not right now, Blasphemous 2 and Sea of Stars come first, but if it reviews well, I will get it later on.
Waiting on reviews and technical makeup of the Switch version. If it’s an 8/10 and 1080p 60fps docked, then will get it. If the game is good but the Switch version has poor performance or resolution, then will get it for PC.
Depends on the review and if there will be a physical release.
Would like to read a review before September starts. If there’s no review before then, no dice
I only have a Switch Lite and I feel like the game will feel a little cramped there, so probably get it on PS5.
I think I will play Jet Set Radio first and stick with it. Watched a few minutes of Bomb Rush Cyberfunk and I think it feels rather dark and lacks the innocence of Jet Set Radio. Like the beheading and beating up the cops and stuff. The music sounds cool but also more on the dark side in terms of vibes, but I want something
fresh on the light side, like Jet Set Radio.
Not for that asking price, $60AUD. I'll wait and see how it reviews and for a sale first.
Oddly enough, I’m in Canada but can’t purchase on the eshop yet, and yet it’s nearly 8am on Aug 18 :s
I voted “haven’t decided yet” because I’m waiting for reviews. The game looks promising, but so far no reviews, which is a little concerning. If the game was as good as it looks, wouldn’t they have sent out early review codes?
@MSaturn one of the devs commented on resetera that they sent review codes to smaller youtubers and that big outlets should....buy a copy.
Bold strategy, cotton. Let's see if it pays off.
@Pupuplatter really? Lol, I guess I see what they’re going for with that but yeah, it could definitely be a shoot your self in the foot kind of move.
@RootsGenoa pour quel site ?
Jet Set Radio was so perfectly balanced, that just looking a bit like it is not enough to convince me that this is good, very interested though, but first some reviews
@nathatruc Gamekult. Bien sûr l'audience n'est pas internationale comme ici, mais ça reste un gros site je pense. ^^'
@RootsGenoa 👍 on dirait bien que personne n'a eu de clé, même ign.com n'a pas de test.
Im excited and im buying day one. Just been refreshing Nintendo site waiting to download the game.
@B_BIackNinja_N You don't need to refresh it's out in 40min
I'll put it on my wishlist and pick it up sometime down the line on a sale probably.
Waiting for the review but leaning towards a buy as long as it's a 7 or higher. 🙏
Its live now. (need more text to post this)
@Mattock1987 why would you buy from the UK eshop ?! I've just purchased the game from the Brazilian eshop for half the price...
@locky-mavo you can buy it from the Brazilian eshop a lot cheaper...
@hbkay or better still the Brazilian eshop where I've just purchased it from for about 18 quid 😎
I've just purchased it from the Brazilian eshop for about £18....
was about to buy it, until I saw it had budget retail price. At that point, i might as well wait for a physical version.
I was going to buy it, then saw it was 40 euros. Dang, I thought it’d be more like half that price, and as someone who hasn’t played jet set radio I don’t even know what this game would be going for… plus the aesthetic and music not being entirely my thing either, definitely waiting for a review and sale.
@Andgiles62 Hello bud, im in UK and wondering the best way to go about doing this. My regular Mastercard doesnt work (but works on SA store strangely enough) I also have a crypto.com virtual visa which i preload for Turkish psn store purchases. Any help appreciated
£36 ?!!! Ouch!!! Now I understand why its price wasn't showing on the Eshop until the very last second before its release... Just got Vampire Survivors and all its DLC's for less than £7 so I think I'm gonna pass for now. 15£ later on maybe, but certainly not £36 for a (according to the reviews) 8-10h long game. Gosh, I've had more than 400h out Monster Hunter Rise and its extension for about £70 and still have lots to do in the game. And no physical release ??? Seriously?????!
@Andgiles62 would we need to create another user login in order to purchase from the Brazilian Eshop or would our UK login work? Also, does the game contains all languages? And last and not least, can we start the game with our usual UK login or do we need to switch to a Brazilian one every single time we want to start the game? Thank you
@Smiffy01 easy peasy....yes you can buy from the SA eshop with your UK credit card but you can't from the Brazilian eshop....however you can buy Brazilian eshop gift cards in 50 real multiples from SEAGM. I would highly recommend doing so as the Brazilian eshop is one of the cheapest around...
@Gohanjin yes you set up another account with country as Brazil and then link to your switch. In order to purchase from the Brazil eshop you'll need to purchase Brazil eshop gift cards from SEAGM. Definitely worth doing not just for this game but numerous others that are cheaper there
@RootsGenoa I read on Twitter that reviewers need to buy it and the keys will be given to people in unfortunate circumstances
@gingerbeardman Apparently my website got one for PC, but since I made the mistake of asking for a Switch key, they gave the review to someone else. -_-
@nathatruc On en a finalement eu une, mais sur PC, cf ci-dessus. T_T
I thought I was getting it day 1. No reviews yet… and for that price, I might wait for even the tiniest sale.
@Andgiles62 Nice one cheers bud, i take it i'll lose any BR credit when switching back to UK store.
I’ll wait for a sale. As I’m not dropping £36 on a digital game
Well reporting back, haven't finished it of course but its fantastic, so jet set radio I feel like I am back playing my Dreamcast again when JSR came out. Totally recommented although I did have old eshop vouchers and a load of shop coins so this cost me like £14
The 60fps mode is also a thing, I guess its unlocked in that it can drop occasionally but so far this is legit. They made this work and now I am even more confused as why they did get reviewed more early.
@Smiffy01 no it stays there. You'll just have more than one store. I have 8 all told.
@Lord buy it from another store, I would suggest the Brazil one where it's half the price of the UK. I rarely buy from the UK store as it's usually one of the most expensive...
This game has an interesting visual style. Have played Ollie Ollie World and it seems to present something similar. But with a very unique experience. Surprised there are actually bosses, after watching the great reviews today on YouTube so far.
Still have the original HD version of Jet Set Radio on PS3.
Jetset was one cool game on Dreamcast
@Andgiles62 Ah got ya, i just change region then change back to uk when done.
So, I broke down after watching a couple of reviews and got the game using some of my eshop credits for about $25, and....
Oh. my. goodness. If you are/were a fan of JSR or JSRF GET THIS GAME!
Bomb Rush Cyberfunk is Amazing! It oozes style and has the substance to back it up. It just FEELS fun to play and move the character around. Lots to see, unlock, learn and do. There's even a 60fps mode available called "Unleash the Beast" and it looks beautiful!
It doesn't hurt that the soundtrack is S-tier level of hip-hop, funksoul, dance and electro. I hope NintendoLife likes the game as much as I do. Team Reptile should be proud and show off their achievement by sending as many review codes out as possible! This game was MADE to be played with headphones on a Switch OLED! 😂
Hopefully SEGA sees this game and gives this team a call for a possible future collaboration...It would definitely fit right in with SEGA's favorite band of taggers with swagger.
I got it on Steam, so that I can wait when Iam8Bit releases the physical Switch version.
