NEO: The World Ends With You (Switch)
$23.99 (-60%)
NEO: The World Ends With You impresses in all the categories we were terrified it could fail in bearing in mind how great its predecessor was. The game boasts an energetic soundtrack that feeds off the energy of the original, a deep and rewarding combat system that makes a successful leap to 3D, an inspiring cast of characters that stand tall on their own, and importantly, a world that begs you to come back even after you’ve finished the 40+ hour campaign. After 13 long years, many fans lost hope we’d ever see a sequel to that first Reapers Game, but we’re so pleased to see these talented developers never lost their calling.

Under Night In-Birth Exe:Late[cl-r] (Switch)
$19.99 (-50%)
Don't let this one's comically unwieldy title put you off. Under Night In-Birth Exe:Late[cl-r] is a super slick, fast-paced fighter that manages to successfully straddle the line between being instantly accessible and welcoming for newcomers and in-depth enough to satisfy hardcore fight fans. Its line-up of twenty-one fighters are much more exciting than their anime stylings may suggest, and the Chronicles mode gives fans of the visual novel element of the game plenty to sink their teeth into. With the most comprehensive training and tutorial modes we've ever encountered in a fighting game, this is easily one of the most well-rounded, satisfying and instantly engaging brawlers on Switch and – even with an online mode which seems to be in need of some attention – there's plenty for fans of the genre to sink their teeth into here.
Atelier Ryza 3: Alchemist of the End & the Secret Key (Switch)
$41.99 (-30%)
Atelier Ryza 3: Alchemist of the End & the Secret Key ends Ryza's three-game run on a high note, serving up a heady mix of exploration, crafting, and combat that benefits greatly from a narrative arc that's had time to develop and grow. The new key mechanics add more depth to combat, synthesis, and exploration, the world is more seamless and diverse than ever before and the whole thing comes together to form a satisfying end for this hugely popular protagonist. We did have some issues with small text, no English dub, and a little fussiness in how information is relayed, but overall this is Gust's finest adventure to date and a JRPG experience that long-term fans and newcomers alike will find plenty to delight in.
Shantae: Half-Genie Hero (Switch eShop)
$9.99 (-50%)
Shantae: Half-Genie Hero has never been better than on Switch; the enhanced versatility of the console lends the game a new sort of appeal and convenience that wasn’t there before. This is a charming, colourful, and sometimes challenging Metroidvania that will no doubt prove to be a memorable addition to your collection. While it could be a little longer, we would give this one a strong recommendation to anyone who hasn’t yet picked it up for any other platform. For those of you who have, know that you’re essentially just paying for the ability to play this on the go, but that’s still arguably worth the asking price. Either way, this is one of the most polished Shantae games.
Cyber Shadow (Switch eShop)
$11.99 (-40%)
If you consider yourself a fan of retro action platformers, you owe it to yourself to pick up Cyber Shadow. It’s clear in virtually every facet of Cyber Shadow’s design that this project was a labour of love and that its designer is intimately familiar with what makes the stalwarts of this beloved genre so great. Well-built levels, authentic presentation, tight controls, and high difficulty all combine to make this a supreme and focused experience, and one that we can easily say is well worth your time. Mechanical Head Studios has set a high bar with its inaugural release.
Pillars of Eternity: Complete Edition (Switch eShop)
$12.49 (-75%)
During the 60 to 70 hours it takes to make your way through the main story and DLC on offer in Pillars Of Eternity (much more should you choose, quite rightly, to meander), you’ll meet a cast of unforgettable travelling companions, fight your way through labyrinthian dungeons, explore deserted Dwarven fortresses, become Lord of your very own stronghold and undertake quests as varied as they are beautifully-written and acted. Obsidian has created a heartfelt tribute to the classic 'Infinity Engine' RPGs of old; one that takes the best of those games, delicately updates them and – in the process – becomes something of a classic itself. For RPG fans, this is a must-buy.
Fast RMX (Switch eShop)
$13.99 (-30%)
FAST RMX is as good as the Wii U original and then some. Updated visuals, more tracks, more vehicles; it was an utterly outstanding launch title for the Switch and it holds up very well to this day, keeping the futuristic high-speed racing game alive in the absence of F-Zero. With the console's ability to allow multiplayer on the go rolled in, this is without doubt essential for racing fans with a Switch.
Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection (Switch)
$9.99 (-67%)
While some of the games included in this compendium are rendered somewhat superfluous by the fact that far superior sequels and updates exist alongside them, Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection remains an utterly essential purchase for any self-respecting fighting game fan. This is like a history lesson in how the one-on-one fighter has evolved over time. The experience really benefits from using the right controller; while the Joy-Con are perfectly acceptable when you're hosting impromptu local multiplayer challenges and the Pro Controller's D-Pad is passable, we found the 8bitdo SN30 and SN30 Pro pads to be much better options, and if you have an arcade stick that's compatible with Switch, now is the ideal time to dig it out – this is fighting game nirvana, pure and simple.
Prodeus (Switch)
$17.49 (-30%)
Prodeus is the kind of game that knows exactly what it wants to do and executes that vision flawlessly. It’s not complicated and it’s nothing you haven’t seen before, but every inch of this experience was clearly crafted with passion and talent. The intense firefights, expansive arsenal, metal music, and sprawling level designs all come together to make Prodeus feel like a game that’s just the right mix of retro and modern. If you have ever been a fan of Doom, Quake, Wolfenstein, or any of the indie boomer shooters of the last few years, you owe it to yourself to give Prodeus a shot. Even if you haven’t much been into the genre before, we’d say this is an excellent place to jump in and see what it’s about.
Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair (Switch)
$2.99 (-90%)
Donkey Kong Country fans rejoice: this is the spiritual successor you’ve been waiting for. The worst thing you could say about it is that the overworld exploration may prove to be too involved for those who are in it purely for the runny-jumpy stuff, but those who are happy to mix platforming with top-down adventuring and don’t mind adapting to the constantly changing pace will find the best of both worlds here. Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair is a fantastic sophomore effort that pays tribute to Rare's past and establishes Playtonic as one of the UK's most exciting studios.
Slime-san (Switch eShop)
$2.39 (-80%)
Slime-san is a brilliantly snappy, charismatic and challenging title that manages to deliver a satisfying core game with tonnes of bonus extras to play around with besides. The controls are spot-on, the environments are varied and engaging, and while other platformers may have tread similar ground before, Slime-san weaves together so many different elements into a finely-crafted experience that it deserves a place among the best in the genre. That's not even mentioning a handful of arcade game modes, a suite of options for speedrunning, and a soundtrack that almost warrants the price of admission alone. It represents immense value for money, and if you're itching for something weird then the future is most certainly green.
Subnautica (Switch eShop)
$9.89 (-67%)
When Unknown Worlds announced they were bringing Subnautica to Switch we were hugely excited, this is one of our all-time favourite games after all, but it was excitement tempered with a degree of scepticism as to how on earth they'd manage to cram the entire experience onto Switch in a properly playable manner. As it turns out, we needn't have worried as this is a super solid port that — besides a few loading stutters here and there and some scenery pop-in that's present in every other version of the game — successfully delivers one of the very best open-world survival experiences on any platform to Nintendo's hybrid console.
Ni No Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom (Switch)
$14.99 (-75%)
Ni No Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom is an excellent action-RPG that's arrived on Switch in a fantastic, feature-packed port. Evan and Roland's antics across this game's sprawling world are stuffed full of great characters, exciting combat and adventuring, and a kingdom-building mechanic that's a delight to get to grips with. It looks and sounds every bit as good as its predecessor and, although the story might be a little more hit-and-miss here, we were completely hooked into this one from beginning to end. This is a sumptuously crafted adventure you won't regret diving into.
Crawl (Switch eShop)
$2.99 (-80%)
Strictly speaking, this is more competitive than co-operative, but we really like Crawl and we’d bet our collected stash of gold and wrath you will, too. A dungeon-crawling hack-and-slash affair, one player is the hero trying to get through a dungeon and the others play as monster-controlling ghosts attempting to kill said hero and take their place. It's an everyone-for-themselves free-for-all, yet there are opportunities for frantic 3v1 co-operative play — a necessity when all the non-hero ghost characters must take joint control of bosses the hero faces.
So then, light on co-op but heavy on fun. Couchplay doesn’t get much better than this on Switch.
Dusk (Switch eShop)
$11.99 (-40%)
Dusk is one hell of an impressive piece of software and possibly the single best Unity port to Switch we've ever seen, sidestepping typical performance problems and delivering a brilliant experience of a brilliant game. It's not as good a game as Quake, but almost nothing is. There's a relatively limited arsenal of weapons — they're all great, but there's no iconic gun here, just your usual pistol, shotty, assault rifle, explosives, et al. We're being churlish with our criticisms here, though — ultimately, Dusk is another absolute cracker in Switch's FPS roster.
Mega Man 11 (Switch)
$9.99 (-67%)
Mega Man 11 was an excellent resurgence for the character, imbuing the tried-and-true classic gameplay with modern touches and new ideas that expand on existing concepts in interesting ways. The underlying action platforming gameplay is just as tight and challenging as you remember, and when combined with the new visuals and extra options for replayability, you’ve got a game that’s every bit as good as those that came before, while surpassing them in some ways. Mega Man 11 is a modern classic, a fitting refresh for a beloved series.
FAR: Lone Sails (Switch eShop)
$2.09 (-86%)
Without saying a word, FAR: Lone Sails conveys a poignant tale of hope and perseverance, masterfully balancing style with substance for an experience that feels every bit as sublime as it looks. Sure, you could grumble about its relative shortness, the occasionally obtuse puzzles and the very, very minor control issues, but these problems dissolve away once you're invested in the journey. We highly recommend that you give this a spin.
Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales (Switch eShop)
$7.99 (-60%)
While utilising the ruleset of a more traditional CCG system might put off some players, the on-brand approach to turn-based combat in Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales is still a positive addition to the world. Because with such an involved and intricately designed story – and such an interesting world to explore beyond the confines of Geralt – Thronebreaker offers the opportunity to lose yourself in the Continent like never before.
Overcooked! All You Can Eat (Switch)
$13.59 (-66%)
Overcooked! All You Can Eat is an absolute must-buy for anybody looking for a fantastic party game to play with friends. The wacky visuals and chaotic gameplay make it an ideal game for local co-op, and there’s plenty of content to work through with the entirety of Overcooked and Overcooked 2 to feast on. Across the entire series so far, Team17 and Ghost Town Games have explored a lot of cool ideas via DLC content, and ensured that each expansion had unique theming and gameplay mechanics. Considering that all of this is offered in addition to the stellar base campaign, this buffet really stands as a no-brainer. The only downside is that those who have already dipped into either title (or both) won't find a massive amount of new stuff here, outside of the exclusive "Peckish Rises" expansion. Still, very tasty.
Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate (Switch)
$9.99 (-75%)
Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate may lack the accessibility that made Monster Hunter: World such a smash hit, but it more than makes up for it by being a sort of ‘greatest hits’ collection of the high points of the series, giving you hundreds of hours of content to play through. Couple this with the HD visuals, easy-to-use multiplayer, and the ability to play the full experience on the go, and you’ve got a game that will appeal to both veterans and newcomers alike. It may not necessarily represent the future of the series, but this is a fantastic experience in its own right and a worthy follow-up to the 3DS original, and one that no Switch owner will want to be without, even if series newcomers might want to start with Rise first.
That's not all! Since we've hit our limit of 100 list items, here are the remaining three games included in the sale. These ones have frequently been included in eShop sales over the years, so it's probably unlikely you'll need any kind of reminder of how great they are.
- Rayman Legends - $7.99 (-80%)
- Cuphead - $13.99 (-30%)
- Shovel Knight: Treasure Trove - $19.99 (-50%)
There we go - pretty good sale, huh? Be sure to let us know what you plan to pick up in the sale with a comment down below. If we happened to have missed anything, too, then give us a poke; we'll add it in!

I could get Shin Megami Tensei V for $20 CAD physically, much cheaper than getting it from this digital sale, thanks to a certain Canadian online retailer store. (But I already have it and I paid more for my copy, I should have waited, but then again I was not expecting a Shin Megami Tensei game to go below $30-$40 CAD from a online retail store.)
Also I can pretty much get 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim and Persona 5 Royal physically for a bit cheaper price at this time.
Anyways, there are some good prices here.
103 good games on sale and barely anything on my huge wishlist. 😝 I suppose that means I already own far too many games. That said, a lot of really great games on this list.
I wonder if I should get NieR. 🤔 Theatrhythm is also very tempting but I feel like that one will eventually be on an even better sale.
I already own it personally, but anyone who doesn't buy Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair for 3 bucks is missing out.
Impossible Lair for £2.50 is one of the best deals in gaming, period. Really fantastic game, very rarely do I go for achievements but I wanted to squeeze everything I could out of this game and went for 100%. Criminally low price for such a good title
Removed - unconstructive feedback
@Cuinnhell Your words here remind me of the old "Switch has no games!" line from 2017-2018.
I suppose I can understand your quibbling with the word "saturated"; saturated is ultimately about the ratio of one thing inside another, and everyone knows the eShop has a huge volume of low-effort, low-quality titles.
I would ask you, though, to show me an online marketplace or platform that isn't positively purulent with inferior games. The fact is that Switch has an astounding library across many many genres and from first to third-party developers. I wouldn't say it's vastly superior to what's available on PS4 or Steam, but the exclusives are quite strong (can you name 20 AAA titles from Sony that are superior to what's on Switch?). Are you disputing that?
Impossible Lair for £2.50 is one of the best deals in gaming, period.
@larryisaman Must say I don't understand the negativity around that game from certain loud members of the audience. It is not the match of the DKC games (old or new), but what's there kept me engaged, and I look forward to the next title.
The scary thing is... there are a ton of not quite 9/10 games that are also on sale well worth getting.
Also known as 103 ways to bankrupt your readers.
Axiom Verge for $5 looks legit. There are many other titles that I'm interested in but the sale prices aren't any lower than they typically are during the year so there isn't much for me to get excited about
@larryisaman Yeah, that was the one I was finally like "OK, you got me, you found my price".
@IceEarthGuard can you divulge which online store you use? I’m also Canadian and don’t understand where people are buying games when they claim on this site that physical is often cheaper than digital and like day one. I feel like most of those comments are coming from the uk. But if you have a good source for discounted physical games in Canada, please let me know
@Grim The store is VGP (Video Games Plus.) Expect a small delay with shipping during this time of year of course if you do buy from them.
@CANOEberry For me it’s right up there with Tropical Freeze, really loved it. Considering the budget was likely a fraction of what that game cost to make it’s amazing what they came out with. I can understand people not holding it in as high regard as myself but I can’t understand not at least enjoying it, especially as a fan of DKC (either original trilogy or Retro’s games).
@IceEarthGuard thanks so much! I’ll check it out
@IceEarthGuard omg they have really good stock and a bunch of import titles too. Really appreciate this. Have you purchased from them a lot? I can finally get myself a copy of 13 sentinels, and at an amazing price
@Grim Yeah, I have purchased 10 times from them so far. Got every order without a problem. And your welcome!
Although this is a pretty strong list, it goes to show you that the Switch truly is about ready to tap out. I've played and own everything on the platform that I've ever been interested in and there are just SO many rehashes, clones, and samey stuff. Bring on the Switch 2!
Oh wow, Yooka Laylee and the Impossible Lair is an absolute steal at that price, great game
Firewatch is the oldest game on my wishlist. It hasn't been on sale in 3½ years! And 75% off!
Jump on that!
Pretty solid list. Although...guys, what the heck are you doing advertising the absolute mess that is Pillars Of Eternity? It's pretty well known to be broken and that Versus Evil decided to just stop fixing it.
@Cuinnhell
I think you mightve gone a little hard in your critique, but you arent wrong. Words mean things, and saturated means "loaded to capacity with X," not "X is present, sure."
i too sometimes wish the Nlife editors would get a bit tighter in their wordplay, but It's not worth trashing them over it, right?
besides, armchair editing is fun! 😆
just beware, others will accuse you of arguing semantics, which... is exactly what you are doing 😂. I never quite got their point, there. But, it's fun to define "semantics" and "pedantry" in an argument, I recommend it. 👍
Be careful buying Pillars of Eternity on Switch. The load times are bad on PC, but almost unbearable on Switch. There are many mechanics that just do not work on the Switch build.
I'm always a bit baffled by Switch players that recommend it on this console, as in my mind it's one of the weaker ports on the system and almost unplayable.
Great game on PC though.
@CANOEberry to be clear, I can't name 20 AAA from Sony because I only own, and have only ever owned, Nintendo systems
I was being sincere re: happy with 20
@DoctorSushi Right and there is still a game-breaking bug that they never fixed at all.
I own Witcher III on Switch, but honestly, play that game on a different platform. The world is absolutely gorgeous and the Switch doesn’t do it justice.
Also, Okami is one of my all time favorite games. That’s a must buy for anyone.
@Mr_Zurkon TW3 isn't too bad on Switch if you turn off the anti-aliasing, which removes the awful blurring. tbh the difference isn't too stark in comparison to the last-gen home console versions. Going from 60+fps to 30 when you also own the game on PC can be a bit jarring, though.
@CANOEberry @larryisaman Agreed that Impossible Lair is top-tier. Up there with the best DKC games. Kinda makes me wish they'd focus on making 2D games now, as they clearly have an aptitude for it.
I waited and waited for Firewatch to go on sale. Finally it did. At $4.99 right now you can't beat it. At the full $19.99 it's worth it. The game is so great. I recommend it to anyone.
@CANOEberry I'll check it out but Firewatch for $4.99 is amazing. I couldn't believe how great that game was. I waited for it to go on sale. Finally it did and I grabbed it.
@Joe-b How does it run on Switch? I'm definitely interested, but reviews mentioned that the pop-in as you roam the world is distracting. You're right, though, for that price (or even higher) it does seem worth it...
@CANOEberry not too often but sometimes it "stutters" however it's not too bad and doesn't ruin the game. I didn't notice pop up. The story is awesome though. The only problem I had until I got used to it was I can't read a map for crap. I could be standing in a spot and do a full 360 and not know where I am! I'm so bad with that!
Why is Pillars of Eternity here?
